I was lucky enough to try the demo back in FEB 2017 and it blew me away.
Here's a video of my 'initial thoughts' at the time.

ALSO The developer wants to turn this experience into a FULL GAME so show him your support here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Aircar/comments/6u7w2v/if_you_enjoyed_playing_aircar_and_would_like_to/

This is one of my goto experiences to show friends and new people VR for the first time and it just blows them away!

YES! .. I'm so happy to hear he is going to go ahead with making the full game. Highly recommend everyone check this out. Temper your expectations - its only a proof of concept at best - but damn is it cool and immersive.

I really hope to see something along the lines of G-Police for the full game .. flying around a cyberpunk city shooting down bad guys .. protecting VIP's... catching criminals .. theres SO much potential here.

It's very blade runner/The fifth element in style imo ;)

No realtime shadows on the other stupidly low-poly "cars" even at highest setting? Pfff..

Not impressed - the detailed cockpit with it's rainy windows seem to distract people into believing that the city model/lighting/textures looks good.

Wildt didn't like Rez due to graphics, and now Aircar? I like your standards buddy :)

I just finished this demo... and yep, it is amazing! I very much felt like I was flying around a world very akin to Bladerunner. Which is one of my most favorite movies of all time.

The workmanship of this free demo speaks volumes towards the talent of the creator/designer.

But if this was a full game... what would it entail? I like it, but I saw no other objective other than flying around. I'd be interested to see/hear where this is going in terms of depth and story.

Wrong - I didn't like it running at 60hz update. That's something completely different.

This demo was based on UE4, and imo he could've/should've included more lighting OPTIONS (dynamic stuff) even if it would've knocked it out of 90fps territory for many users.

It's just very easy to impress a lot of people with really dark scenes with baked in lighting. Just doesn't do it for me.

I liked it and found the flying easy.  A bit more challenging close to the ground flying under the street lights and avoiding traffic.
The ground level vehicles are like sheets of paper but the larger craft are nicely done. Kinda sega saturn level.
I eventually ran out of fuel and got a talk from the ai.  Is docking - refueling in the works?
    All in all nicely done.

I read through that. I actually like this recommendation:

First of all, Touch support similar to Ultrawings but with 6 DOF movement would be awesome!

For a game idea, something where you patrol a city would be interesting. That would include responding to police reports where you can prevent crimes, or chase criminals and subdue them with on-board weapons.

Maybe have procedural events such as accidents, disasters, or fires, where the player can stumble upon them from simply flying around, and can report it back to HQ whom would send the adequate response team to take care of it.

The player would get money from these missions to upgrade their Aircar for better maneuverability, weapons, scanners, etc.

EDIT: Escort missions where you protect a convoy from point to point, fending off attackers would be cool too.

My recommendation (to add to that one), would be to provide unlockable discoveries/locations similar to ioMoon and Robinson the Journey.

Maybe I will think on it a bit more and post my thoughts on Reddit :#

Yea I really enjoyed it myself. I took it as it is, a Demo and it was quite impressive enough for me. I think it's a great foundation/beginning concept. After playing VTOL/Ultrawings i'm kind of spoiled and want all my driving/flying/operating games to work like that and to let me fly with the touch using VR controls.

Aha, I need to have another go at RR, I'm not good at killing enough bots before the time expires to merit high scores..

I loved Robo Recall, but after I beat it I didn't feel compelled to return when faced with so many other choices. I use Robo Recall mostly as a demo app; people love it.

I'm not much of a high score type either.

Wow, just Wow! Can't wait for this to be a game! Just make sure you learn the controls quickly or you will get motion sickness! Once you get controls down, no motion sickness!

Zenbane is right, but most of the AA games have very polished visuals imo.

If someone had said Aircar was a very decent demo from 1 dev done in his spare time, I would've just agreed. But the "omg it's amazeballs" hypelevel raised my expectations.

A one man indie project like "Surge" is still AWESOME imo just to give an example..

Since this game is reminiscent of Blade Runner, why not make it a game about being a police officer who hunts  down rogue androids?

Like other have suggested, you patrol  and then chase suspects. Maybe you have a device to disable their cars if you can get close enough.

How is VTOL? Does  it have a campaign? Is it  good? It looks cool.

VTOL is great, but the graphics are less then I expected. Anyway you really feel if your in a cockpit and flying the plane. The game is far from ready but I had some good time so far.

I also advice you to try the demo Mercury Ready for Launch is you love game like flying/operating games.

@frankelfert Yea this. It's more like an alpha than a full game but it has a few missions currently and only 1 plane to fly. Graphics are bad but the immersion is great for me. Being able to interact with everything in the cockpit including the flight controls is awesome. I love my HOTAS and I've been playing online flight sims regularly since 1994 Airwarrior and played just about all of them. Seen and done it all you could say including homemade cockpit setups and I was taken aback at how much I prefer to not have a HOTAS in VR after playing VTOL. Not being able to see it or my keyboard without looking through my nose gap is annoying sometimes.

The game is made by 1 guy so I'm not sure what the ultimate ceiling for it is but for what he has already is pretty sweet. Hopefully more missions and content is on the way as well as multiplayer.
