Green "galaxy" like noise in both displays, noticeably worse on the right.

Title, in dark areas there is what looks like a galaxy of green noise in both displays, with a meandering section of black near the top (so, like a night sky with a dark band, but green). It's like thousands of tiny green spots.

Now, I know the SDE and god rays, and this issue is neither. It is also not present on my bf's Rift, and was not present in the demo Rift I used. To say, not present in ANY degree.

I'm already in contact with support, but I'm assuming because my phone just cannot take a good representative photo of the issue, my complaint has been all but dismissed at this time. I find this unacceptable, this issue is making certain games and experiences nearly unplayable. This is the photo I sent: https://imgur.com/a/cb74H

It's admittedly a horrible representation of the issue since it just looks like green blurring (again, phone camera issue), but you would think the obvious difference between the two displays would give some cause for RMA.

I'm hoping someone who had a similar issue could give me their experience on how the issue was resolved. I'm currently sitting with this response from support:

"Thanks for sending us the picture.

The occurrence you're describing appears to be normal behavior, and exists to some degree in all headsets.

While it can vary between headsets, it more typically varies between users. This does not affect the functionality of the Rift, and should still allow for great experiences.

I realize that this is not the answer that you were hoping for; however, we do appreciate your understanding in this matter."

I really hope this is a misunderstanding due to the photo because there is no way I'm putting up with defective hardware (which this clearly is).

I just had a thought...

Does the Rift run the Spud calibration images through barrel distortion maybe, like everything else?
This would explain why the bands always have this arc shape.

I think you should be working for them haha,  sounds like you would fix the issue quicker, support have gone quiet, so guess they must be investigating this, I wondered, the two weeks I was waiting for my replacement rift, I had the windows 10 creators edition update and 2 nvidia driver updates, so wondered if this had anything to do with it or is it just the new rifts, Ahh well hope it gets fixed through an update, I don't wanna have to send it back again!

"Greetings,

Thank you for your patience as we work to answer your ticket in the order it was received.

Due to the Summer of Rift sale, we are experiencing a larger contact volume than normal.

You have reached the highest point of escalation, but we have not had the chance to investigate your case at this time.

Rest assured that Oculus Support is actively answering tickets and you have not been forgotten.

We appreciate your understanding and continued patience as we strive to answer all contacts as quickly as possible."

So hey, some good news (escalation!). Fingers crossed I get some official word on this issue. Now to wait.

Yeah I got the same email, so hopefully they're taking it seriously now, I've noticed like a white haze aswell that's fills up most of the lens, noticed it on wilsons heart n then even on the sensor setup screen, can see dark levels right at the the top then like this white haze, almost like your looking through a net curtain!

I've submitted a ticket for this exact same issue, only in the right lens and is extremely annoying!

UPDATE for anyone still interested, I haven't heard back from Oculus, but I did submit my ticket number to a "product specialist" in the Oculus subreddit asking for them (In a thread where someone literally just wanted to add themselves to the list of people with this issue) so they could check the emailed logs and such themselves. It's been a week now since I had a non-automated email directly from support.

Getting the same issue here with my new replacement. Definitely did not have the green galaxies on my first headset and I spend a lot of time in the focus menu because my issue was with the IPD setting. Tried the "gen 2" (new faceplate) replacement on for the first time to set the IPD and it was like "WHOA, what the heck is this!?!?"

Do you have a link to that subreddit thread with the "product specialist"?

add another user around here with the green stripe problem, I just got the replacement of my first HMD that had this problem in the left eye and very far from solved, I just got an HMD with the same problem but much more serious and in both eyes, this is intolerable, not only do not solve the problem but give you a worse one in worse conditions.

This is what I see now in each eye
