Just received a Rift for early B-Day gift from old Army buddy. Was so looking forward to using Medium. I get nothing but crashes when messing with the menu. Oculus Medium is the main reason I wanted a Rift, since I use ZBrush.
I'm seeing this crash on one of my systems. Attaching the log.
Medium asked if I wanted to run in debug mode, I said yes and it opened with visual studio and spit out a bunch of info when it crashed. I don't really know what any of it means but maybe it will be useful?
And just for kicks including the compose-init-order.log.

Lots of random little things that can cause crashes. Old video card drivers, particularly AMD, running some malware scan programs can cause issues, turn off any GPU or CPU tuners you might have (like Rivatuner), Make sure your oculus SDK is updated (if it's new it should be) and make sure you've installed latest windows updates.
If that stuff doesn't work posting your crash logs location here: C:\users\*username*\AppData\LocalLow\Oculus\Medium\log
and your dxdiag so we can look at your system specs would help.
I appear to have the same tooltip related crash. I went through all UI buttons and noted the offending tooltips. I get 100% repro on all of those.
Control Panel:
Mirror
Lathe
Layers:
Flip
Stamp
Increase Res
Decrease Res
Scene:
Sun Brightness
Sun Color
Switching off tooltips resolves the issue. Also drawing clay and releasing the trigger over the UI button will keep the tooltip from showing and allows me from pressing the button without a crash. I do not believe I have had tooltips disabled at any point before. I am running Windows 7 x64 with a GTX 970 and have had the crash with past and up-to-date Nvidia drivers (388.00).
