Flying Aces: Navy Pilot Simulator

We've been in development for over a year.
The scheduled release date is July 1st.

We just launched on Kickstarter, it's a good chance to get the game at a discount and help us improve it through beta testing.  Thanks for your support.

Yeah I'm not overly convinced from the trailer. Are you trying to compete with established flight sims or you going a different direction? I ask cause this is also coming out in the next few months:

I guess what separates us from DCS is that this game is developed purely for Virtual Reality.
The DCS franchise is a PC game that has Virtual Reality enabled.

Also, our game is more story driven than purely Simulation.

Thanks

I'd be interested in trying a beta if you like ? I work at Flyinside 😉

Thanks, we might take you up on that.
Incidentally, how does Flyinside handle touch controls.
Does the user have to buy extra hardware?

No extra hardware needed. Now more and more aircraft developers are adding VR functionality to their aircraft. Before this we tried to add contact points but this became harder and harder.
A PC with lots of gadgets inside and a thing to see in 3D that you put on your head.

Thanks! Just to further point out the difference...if VR games don't operate at 60FPS it severely detracts from the user experience and causes nausea.  We have an advanced optimization system that automatically adjust in game graphics to assure you are running at 60fps.  If you have a powerful system it'll automatically increase your resolution and various graphical touches (volumous clouds, etc.).  At the moment, there isn't a powerful enough system that can run the game at 60fps with maxed out settings.  As hardware advances over the coming year, as will the game 🙂

A cockpit game running under 60 FPS doesn't cause me nausea. I play DCS at around 40 FPS and it never effects me. I think it's first person shooters without a cockpit that causes you to feel nausea under 60 FPS. Also, if stutter gets introduced that can cause it..
