check katwalk website.
Preorder this week for half the price.
this version seems to be a huge roller bearing with the platform in the middle.
probably very noisy system but also more compact than the bulky original.
website list also a Katwalk Junior, but no info.
picture shows a guy wearing a ... Pimax !

looks good and only $1.5k

the crouching looks pretty limited is my main concern.
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂

I am not sure they will meet that $1.5k price point - they are already spending more time (like Pimax) trying to entice VR arcade operations to support the platform.

it is preorder, so you buy at that price (before 20 April).

So no risk here. I bet that all people deceived (to stay polite)  by Virtuix Omni, will be very happy to give their money to Katwalk. For VR arcade they already got the KatWalk, so definitely this one is not for targeted for arcade but more for home enthusiast..

for sure , i will not purchase at 2000 or 3000, but 1500 is ok

I doubt the device is headset dependant (while they ask you to indicate which one you plan to use, but probably just for statistics).

Also by making three level of price for preorder they are testing waters for good pricing.

Sorry @@nosys70 - your dead wrong - we were with the KAT team in China last week and they are talking about the mini for VR arcade deployment. Where did you get your information from?

i doubt they will kill  the sales of the expensive KATwalk by selling a cheaper product to the same user base.
Katwalk mini is designed to get less height and fit in appartment. they also said the video does not show the final product that will be probably smaller.
For sure you can buy and bunch of katwalk mini and open an arcade, there is no limitation except there is no software announced for arcade and usually arcade distribution is not using open preorder at discounted prices.

To play fair - the cost of these treadmills isn't the product cost - but the shipping cost that makes the user base shy away from owning one. Space being the other, but most of the time these companies are trying to sell these things to arcades not the general public. I think it be neat to have one for sure:) and I'm sure they be more than happy to sell me one xD but I just don't see how any normal person could have the space for it one in their homes unless they have a spare room and don't mind waking someone else up while you are playing:)

At that price I'll probably get one when I win £110m on the Euromillions on Friday otherwise I'll give it a miss lol 😛
