Want to mirror Rift output to a TV from a laptop

What is the best way to mirror what's happening in the Rift onto an HDTV screen so others in the room can see? My laptop has a GTX 1060 with 1 x HDMI and 1 x mini Display Port. I'd especially like to avoid a big hit in FPS if possible.

So HDMI splitter (active)? DP->HDMI?

How are other people doing this?

Games already mirror to the monitor.  Are you not able to connect the the HDTV to the miniDP port?

Hi,

I am very curious about this also. I have an MSI gt73vr laptop with a 1080  graphics card and I have connected the rift to the hdmi port put when I tried to use the mini display port as well to connect to an external monitor rather than using the laptop screen the oculus just goes black.

Is it possible to connect an external monitor as well as use the rift?

Hello!

I too have Euwan’s issue on my MSi laptop.

Any tips?

No splitters don't work, most games output to a window anyway, provided your laptop has more than 1 output, ie miniDisplayPort and HDMI you plug the rift in one, and your TV in the other as a second monitor or extended desktop, then move that window to the TV

Sorry, I haven't checked in until now. I got mini-dp to HDMI adapter and that works great. Awesome fun when lots of people are over and everyone can see what's happening in the big screen TV

My Samsung TV has a Mirror software for both PC and Mobiles. I think I had it working once. Try this...
Right click Settings>Devices Add Bluetooth or Other Device (at the top)
Mine doesn't seem to support Miracast or Wireless Docking OR may be because of my Powerline Internet Adapter.
But Samsung has their own software Smart View for Screen Mirroring too involving preparing the TV to be ready for this mode.

My laptop only has the HDMI port and no Mini display port. I'm having to use the HTC link box which does have a mini display port, could that work?
