Oculus GO sales numbers? (UPDATE)

So I have been keeping an eye on Oculus App Android downloads numbers, A week after launch it was at 10,000 now it's at 50,000 plus (this is not counting ios devices, damn you apple) .. I'm not saying that this is indicative of anything but nice to see it growing, esp that it has been out for only 2 and a half weeks and seems to be gaining buzz. (Not to mention increased number of new members on this forum, although I would not have expected huge numbers as Mainstreamers don't tend to hang in forums heh) Will be interesting to see numbers grow when the GO gets released in countries outside of the US (yes it's available at oculus.com) but it is nowhere to be found at other retailers, online or otherwise.

EDIT May 31st:

Now at 100,000

Yeah, as I said the problem was previously with the MobileVR (phone based) systems because of the phone usage - not helped by the exploding Samsung situation. Though there still may be need for some FAA ruling for carriers to protect themselves on.

Topic update,

Oculus Go to Hit UK & European Retailers This Month, Pre-orders Now Available

Oculus today announced that Oculus Go, the company’s standalone 3DOF headset released last month, is finally available for pre-order through Oculus retail partners in the EU and the UK. Shipping and in-store availability is slated for release on June 26th.

UK and European residents have (mostly) been able to order Oculus Go directly through the Oculus website since it launched early last month, with the company delivering to many countries in the EU and Schengen Zone including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.

Come June 26th, residents of the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Switzerland will be able to walk into a brick-and-mortar shop and snag one off the shelves. Touted as a low-price, high-quality mobile VR headset, Oculus Go is available in two types: a 32GB version for €220/£200, and a 64GB version for €270/£250.

Those sales numbers are going to climb come July 1st! And when those numbers do climb...

If I walk into a shop & try it, I'm likely going to walk out with it.

I really want to see how the live streams look, particularly the Beeb's World Cup streams. The 26th is too late for the group stage matches but the last 16 onwards would be fun. Assuming England get through 😐

Of course England are gonna get through. We're gonna win the thing.

You crazy fool.

Well thankfully you're in the minority. Football is more important than ANYTHING.

I love football and basketball. It's important to get out every so often and get the joints moving and muscles flexing!

Agreed. With me I couldn’t give the smallest care about ANY sport. Sports are boring.

Who has experience of watching a live streamed event in the Go? how has it looked? did the stream have bitrate and resolution information? or if not... just an impression of the experience would be good

I need knowledge before I find myself in Currys, contributing to sales figures.
