Magic leap a genius and legal scam

Magic leap raised over a billion dollars for a product that has been draped in secret for years.now that they are releasing a product they still are secretive. They do a simplistic  demo that was not anywhere as good as their last demo that was prerecorded  (possibly   not real) and when they say they will do a summer release they still are secretive. They won't even tell us the fov. When you release a product u want publicity not secrecy. Here's the answer to great wealth. Come out with a half ass product that is real enough. Have a legit company like at&t  agree to market it. And as CEO you'll never see the inside of a jail cell because the product you came out with was legitimate enough. Absolute genius.

Hehe, so much of that video is dark AR over the top of bright environment. Just look at the hole the robot falls through, a black hole rendered on a white roof. Completely impossible using any additive light AR headset.

I wonder if they actually had plans for fixing that (such as backing LCD layer to black out pixels) and had to give up, or did they not think about how these things work until after the trailers were made? Or did the people who made the trailers not understand the tech and ML just ran with it because it looked cool?

I guess we'll never know.

Hardware: Threadripper 1950x, MSI Gaming Trio 2080TI, Asrock X399 Taich
Headsets: Wrap 1200VR, DK1, DK2, CV1, Rift-S, GearVR, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Reverb G2

Well, it's cheaper, much larger FOV (allegedly), and hopefully overall it's better in other areas.

It's a slow move forward.  We'll know more over the next few months, when people who own one start talking about it.

They'll probably sell quite well to industry.

AR is so far behind VR when it comes to home-use.
Big PC, all the headsets, now using Quest 3

Yeah, it was a cool video - but it was when the CEO goes on to social media to claim that this is real and not rendered and that they are playing this in the office - it got worst as when the previous marketing exec left he revealed the agency they used to create the demo and it was proven to be 100% fake! Well the exodus begins - leaving the rest of use to clean the pieces up.

For every 100 million invested the ceo probably pockets millions. This thing all a bunch of crap.

According to crunchbase, they have had 2.3 BILLION investment since 2014 ...... 2 .4 ......... BILLION .......

48,000 staff being paid $100,000 a year for 5 years is 2.4 billion. Think about that.
Core i7-7700k @ 4.9 Ghz | 32 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance @ 3000Mhz | 2x 1TB Samsung Evo | 2x 4GB WD Black
ASUS MAXIMUS IX HERO | MSI AERO GTX 1080 OC @ 2000Mhz | Corsair Carbide Series 400C White (RGB FTW!)

Be kind to one another 🙂

Flying first class everywhere, special offices in NY, FL, LA and EU - along with a flexible pool of "consultants" and some interesting payouts for unusual sackings - and yes they have burnt through a lot of cash. Just the issue is - are they worth more investment now the cat is out of the bag that their tech is only comparable to three year old Hololens tech!
