CV1 HMD keeps disconnecting in device manager

Hello, im going crazy with my rift because i can't actually use it every time i  try to play.

Problem is that my HMD won't get a stable connection. Every time i plug in my HDMI und USB 3.0 my windows goes crazy with the plug-in and plug-out sound.
In the device-manager i see the HMD reonnecting (with a yellow sign beneath it's name) and then it disappears again. Only to re-appear after 2 seconds. It's an infinite loop.

I disabled the USB-Powersaving in my power-saving options and unchecked the boxes in the USB Hub setting in the deive-manager. I don't know what i can do at this point and i'm very angry that my 600€ Rift doesn't even work - bad investment -.-

Can you try using USB 2.0? Maybe get this add-on card? https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Superspeed-Ports-PCI-Expansion/dp/B00B6ZCNGM

So i tried some stuff with my USB extensions and i noticed that the problem occurs with the cables. I tried switching the HMD with a rift sensor and the sensor works just fine so the cable isn't damaged.

But the Rift worked perfectly with the same cable for a solid amount of playtime and right now it looks like it doesn't get enough energy to power it which doesn't make any sense at all since it worked perfectly before?

That's very strange, any advice?

Extension cables can be a hit or miss. You can try the cables I've been using, they seem to work for me but I know some other people had issues. https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/comment/336282/#Comment_336282

I'm already using high quality extensions even with a signal enhancer...

I don't know why suddenly it stops working  😞

I've had the exact same problem. I used an extension cable and it worked fine, then the next day my USB stuff got disconnected and reconnected (rift, sensors, mouse, keyboard...) I've switched the extension cord to another one and it worked fine.
