Just thought I'd start a thread where we can all share what we've all been watching.
I'm just finishing the fifth and final series of The Gentle Touch starring the lovely Jill Gascoigne as DI Maggie Forbes. It's a programme from the 80s and is excellent.
Next up for me is the second series of Monkey, known as Monkey Magic in the States I think. If you haven't seen it then you HAVE to check it out. It's a Japanese programme from the 80s that tells the legend of Monkey, Piggsy, Sandy and Tripitaka who travel through Asia to pick up the Buddhist Sacred Scrolls. Some may be familiar of the legend from the video game Enslaved: Odyssey Of The West.
I love rewatching stuff from the 70s and 80s regularly, they don't make telly like that any more which is a real shame. All we seem to see these days is mostly reality TV bollocks with the odd gem hidden here and there. 😞
I really like the new Voltron series. I was never a lion voltron fan, as a kid I preferred the vehicle team voltron series. But the new one on netflix is really well made.
The actual robot design, however, I'm not a fan of. The absolute best giant robot design has to be Dix Neuf from the series Aim For The Top 2 (also known as Gun Buster 2 and Die Buster). A giant robot that fights shirtless with a cape, eye patch and chainsaw fist. 🙂
(Well, not really an eye patch, but looks like it)
Just finished Mr. Mercedes season 1 and am up to date on season 2, it is great - I highly recommend it. I am looking forward to Castle Rock as well - and am about to start season 2 of Ozark which was phenomenal.
On the cartoon side - I love the new Matt Groening show, Disenchanted. While it is definitely not as funny as Rick & Morty, Final Space, or Bojack Horseman - the animation is fantastic, and I like the characters plus it just feels like Futurama even though the writing in the first season is not as sharp.
Also looking forward to starting the new seasons of Iron Fist and Luke Cage.
@Zenbane - I loved the Outer Limits growing up, one of my favourite shows.
