Did you Block non-SSE4.2 CPUs? It is a simple question that can be answered. Thank you.

Hang on tight, here we go. Head first (or face first) into Facebook VR.
When I want to be social, I take my headset off.

I foresee a generation of friends in a restaurant "socialising" on their phones. But wait! Soon they'll be able to sit in the same restaurant with VR headsets on and "socialise" even more.

Could we please have the ability (maybe a toggle setting in the desktop app) to don our headsets and have a vanilla VR interface pop up in a few seconds. Just Store, Library and Settings maybe?

Dear Oculus, If it ain't broke, don't fix it, please.

Thanks for the update! And by the way:  Did you Block non-SSE4.2 CPUs? It is a simple question that can be answered. Thank you.

Right. So when you want to hang out with people who live in another country, you just take the plane to see them during week-end and go back home, I guess.
... The point of Social VR is to be able to be more sociable in situations when you can't do it irl. You can't watch movies irl with people who live far from your home, but you can do it in VR. You can't hang out with people who live on the other side of the planet. You can't go to the restaurant with your wife if you're on a job travel in another country.

VR is a social technology, for the simple and obvious reason that it allows much more social interactions than any other tech. This is why Facebook was interested in it in the first place. Of course it is not as social as real life. But the point was never to replace real life.

Now I do wish they would focus more on performance improvements for minor updates like this one. Home received way more than enough love last year, for 2019 I was hoping they would leave it aside a little...

Of course this is true. No argument.
However, the social aspect of VR is only one aspect, and the Oculus devices are VR devices capable of use in many ways besides social.
It's just my opinion that Facebook seems to think that everyone wants a Rift for the "social" use. I'm not saying that they shouldn't pursue it. If people want to "live" in their headsets, that's okay. But please allow others to switch off the "fluff" that hangs around their amazing VR headset.
I had multiplayer Doom in 1993, I don't need "multiplayer" VR basketball hoops 26 years later. Just saying. 🙂

Any chance of some more detailed release notes so we can see if anything of importance is included? For example, some bug fixes.

Err... you've been complaining about SSE4.2 since march 2017, I'm pretty sure you already have the answer you need.

No @kojack else I would not ask this. We have had old PCs work well in VR with the install/cpu hack but since November it prevented installs but at the same time many i7 PCs also faced install problems. It's a rather simple question as the installer gets stuck at the Librarian Sever to complete installation. It requires full knowledge of the steps we had to take plus a straight answer from Oculus Dev. I am happy to buy new PC but that still leaves me with a 2nd PC that did run VR very well for 3yrs which I'd make use of for my girlfriend (i.e. buy another Rift or wait for the CV2 obviously and end up buying more games!)

Seriously knock it off. You’re spamming the boards and it’s childish. Just upgrade your pc. And take your buddy with you.
