And here:

https://www.anandtech.com/print/13762/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2060-founders-edition-6gb-review

"Like the RTX 2070, the RTX 2060 (6GB) is less suited as an option for most high-end GTX 10 series owners, and with 6GB VRAM as it’s a little less tempting than it could be as a move up from the GTX 1060 6GB or GTX 980 Ti. The card offers known performance along the lines of the GTX 1070 Ti and at very similar power consumption, but brings better value than existing higher-end RTX 20 series models. And this time, there’s less of a spoiler effect from older Pascal models."

My impressions is that RTX 2060 is placed between 1070 Ti and GTX 1080 - actually not bad. Main issue may be the 6GB:

" The caveat is on the 6GB framebuffer, keeping in mind that the 4GB GTX 980 and 970 now punch below their weight in certain games, given the trends of HDR, HD texture packs, high-refresh rates, and more." (also from Anandtech)

Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTX™ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD
"Ask not what VR can do for you, but what you can do for VR"

Yeah from reviews I have seen reviews that basically say the 2060 is roughly 50% more performance than 1060. (Without RTX) and is close to 1080 performance.
Core i7-7700k @ 4.9 Ghz | 32 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance @ 3000Mhz | 2x 1TB Samsung Evo | 2x 4GB WD Black
ASUS MAXIMUS IX HERO | MSI AERO GTX 1080 OC @ 2000Mhz | Corsair Carbide Series 400C White (RGB FTW!)

Be kind to one another 🙂

There have been many fun things since last week with stock changing status and stuff that I won't go over here.
But... I got an email yesterday saying there's an MSI Gaming X Trio waiting for me at the store! Shame they told me 45min before the store closed. So I'm going in about 9 hours to get it.

There goes any hope of a Geforce GTX 11 having the performance of a Geforce 2080Ti without RTX. Just a dream of mine I guess, but I'm still not paying £1000 plus for a Graphics card, ever. Well maybe if I win the lottery or come into some money, but those odds aren't great..

2080TI's are in VERY short supply here. Only some cheaper default clocked ones I don't trust are around. Good models with tested cooling systems like MSI and EVGA are rare (not just at my local store, but anywhere in Aus that I look). I could get a 2080 pretty easily, just not a good model of 2080TI.

MSI 2080TI Gaming X Trio plugged in and drivers installing.
Damn it's big. I'll need to remove it if I ever want to change sata cables.

It also uses 3 power cables (2 x 8 pin and 1 x 6 pin).

At the moment I'm down a monitor. I've been running with an Acer Predator 27" and a Dell 22". The Dell is DVI and I use it in portrait mode for security camera footage (top half) and media stuff (youtube or spotify on the bottom while doing other stuff). But the 2080ti doesn't have dvi ports and I can't find my old display port to dvi adapter (it was for my old Radeon with eyefinity, I had 3 dell 22" monitors but only 2 dvi ports).
So for now I'm stuck on one monitor (which is going to drive me crazy very quickly).

It was $2099au ($1501us) base price. I had to pay a little more due to 1.5% charge for using a credit card (no way my eftpos would accept that much and didn't feel like getting cash out. It was only $31 extra).
Other australian stores are charging up to $2230au for it (but don't have any in stock).
