The Official TV Thread

Just thought I'd start a thread where we can all share what we've all been watching.

I'm just finishing the fifth and final series of The Gentle Touch starring the lovely Jill Gascoigne as DI Maggie Forbes. It's a programme from the 80s and is excellent.

Next up for me is the second series of Monkey, known as Monkey Magic in the States I think. If you haven't seen it then you HAVE to check it out. It's a Japanese programme from the 80s that tells the legend of Monkey, Piggsy, Sandy and Tripitaka who travel through Asia to pick up the Buddhist Sacred Scrolls. Some may be familiar of the legend from the video game Enslaved: Odyssey Of The West.

I love rewatching stuff from the 70s and 80s regularly, they don't make telly like that any more which is a real shame. All we seem to see these days is mostly reality TV bollocks with the odd gem hidden here and there. 😞

So what are you guys and girls watching?

Still enjoying it but don't you think this season is a bit preachy and not a lot happening. How many more episodes are going to be about frigging moclans.

If you have Netflix, Memories of the Alhambra is a great Korean series about AR.

The first season started out strong, but I became somewhat bored toward the end. Had decided not to watch Season 2, but then I did watch the first episode - and it wasn't that bad, actually the story seemed slower and more immersive (or I'm getting too old). I liked episode 2 (s2e2) too - now I'm looking forward to watch some more this weekend  🙂

Have given up on Daredevil Season 3 too - maybe I shouldn't...

I’ve been really tempted lately to sign up for Netflix, just for Punisher and Daredevil.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

Well Marvel (Disney) have pulled their Marvel licence I think. All of their Marvel series have been cancelled. I suspect that they'll making them themselves because there's talk of them bringing their own Netflix-like streaming service to the table.

I’m gonna guess you haven’t been watching the latest episodes. I have a season pass with iTunes so I get the latest episodes. The last episode has NOTHING to do with Mocclans.

I really enjoyed The Punisher. S1 was better than S2, but both were still good.

I'm tired of almost every episode being about the dating life of a crew member. I really enjoy the sci fi parts.

I like Discovery more than I did. Very rough start, but got better. As long as it has Tilly, Stamets and Saru I'll watch it, they are the interesting ones.
That's one problem with it, I don't know or care about most of the crew. Part way through the second season and I still don't know what's the deal with the robot woman. Or the pilot with the different eye and the 7of9 face accessory. The Orville has fleshed out it's cast far better in the same time period.

The Umbrella Academy was pretty cool. Odd show.

I'd like to watch season 3 of The Expanse, but I'd need to pay more. In aus, season 1&2 were on netflix (which I have). But now it's moved to amazon prime, which I don't have. I got an amazon prime trial last year, but cancelled it after about 3 days because it didn't seem worthwhile. Few shows I wanted at the time and the app for my LG tv was garbage. I'm already subscribed to netflix, stan and crunchyroll, I have to draw the line somewhere.
