HELP! Windows 10 restarts randomly when playing oculus apps

qe
Honored Guest
I did some googling and plugged my pc into the wall´s outlet directly, but it still restarts after 5-10 mins of app time.

This didn't happen until about a week ago. I can normally play for hours at a time without problems, it's probably some update?
I reinstalled oculus but to no avail...

Ideas?

Sounds like an unstable system.
PC specs?
What power supply?

CPU: i5-7400,  24 GB RAM, Graphics: Radeon RX 480
PSU: THERMALTAKE 600WATT 80 PLUS POWER SUPPLY

I chatted with tech support for my PC,
he said it shouldn't be a power supply problem...
I do have 500G SSD, an external harddrive, and a monitor

it's even restarting for VRchat, a very light app
Thanks in advance

I did Furmark's stress test for GPU, it was 38C-81C, and completed it without restarting.

Have you tested if it does this with non VR apps/games?
Or even run a stress test on the system?

I can play normal games without issue, also it restarts even for VRchat.
What kinda stress tests? I did memtest & furmark so far.

furmark is more for you GPU.
You can stress test your CPU with something like Intel Extreme Tuning Utility or IntelBurnTest.

But if only happening in VR and never on any non VR apps/games , something sounds amiss in your VR setup. Or maybe your PSU...

I’m thinking PSU as well. Go grab a QUALITY ( Thermaltake is anything but quality) PSU.

Corsair 650 HX models are quite good and can be seen on sale quite a bit.
