White Static Flashes in Rift S

Hello all,

Wanted to post this in the forums to see of anyone else is having a similar issue, in hopes that I'm not the only one or perhaps someone has already contacted Oculus to see if it's a software issue or not.

I'm having intermittent white (kind of like static) flashes every now and then. They're completely at random and happen in Oculus home and all the VR games I've tried with it (Marvel Powers United, Onward, Blade and Sorcery, Beat Saber)

Any info (other than "I'm not having any issues at all") is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We have not returned the Rift S.

Update: Just updated the Driver on the ROG-STRIX-RTX2080-O8G-GAMING 2080 to DRIVER: 430.86, Static Flash has not happened for the last two hours, still testing,

LONE ECHO did close twice, no bug report pop up to report this time, just needed to launch the game, did not need to relaunch the app, Frequency: one after 45 mins and second after 1 hour.

That new Driver 430.86 is not the fix. All you may try is running the 3 Oculus exe in Tasks as High OR Realtime (latter may cause other affects). We once needed to run OVRService as just 1 Core or more or something similar.

Would you be able to clear with message.
what are you exactly talking about?>
what are the 3 Oculus exe in Tasks?
what is "
run OVRService as just 1 Core"

It's 2am and trying to jog my memory. Just checked what we used to need to get rid of Flashes on the old RIFT:
It was Tasks>Details>OVRServer_x64.exe   Right-Click>Set Affinity and select only the first 4,5,6,7 CPU I think?
Any Tech may try this out just as they tried with RIFT S:
Tasks>Details>OVRServer_x64.exe (make all 3 Oculus Icon exe files=)   Right-Click Priority = High OR more risk = Realtime.
I may try these tmro also.

Priority Settings did not fix it and made switching Audio tricky.
Affinity to test next.

I am also getting intermittent white flashes while playing games.  I created a ticket as well.

Here's the old post to fixing flashes with CV1. It was Cores 7&8 for VR and Games set to 1-6.

"Thank you RKODEY you fixed it...
Jumps and Flashes are fixed by setting Affinity settings: -
Run ED then go to TASK MANAGER>DETAILS: Right-Click Affinity
ED64: cores 1-6
OculusVR: cores 7-8 (this file may be new in latest Public Test update)
OVRServer_64: cores 7-8

Others were found to be best with Games 0-3 and VR 4-7.

Was this properly fixed on CV1? or is the solution still to set affinity for each of the .exe's?
