360 cameras and Quest?

Anonymous
Not applicable
Is anyone using 360 degree cameras and able to view the photos and video on the Quest?  Maybe via Youtube VR or otherwise?
I'm new to the 360 degree camera space, and I don't want to buy something that I won't be able to use.  I think it would be amazing to put on the Quest and "return" to the locations I record on my vacation!!

Any info, tips, otherwise would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Also, there is a difference between  360 and VR/3D.

I have seen 360deg 2D video cameras and 180deg VR/3D cameras, but never 360 VR/3D.

What's rhe best consumer VR camera out there?
And is it possible to record VR with two normal cameras some way?

I've viewed videos from my Xiaomi Mi Sphere 360 camera on the Quest. I just ran it through the camera's app to export as a video, then copied it to the headset.

It's not a bad little camera, didn't cost too much and it works fine. I haven't tried any other cheap ones so I don't know how well it compares for quality.

I’m going to get the Yi360 camera and give it a try.

The Yi360 camera seems to work really well!  The best part is I am able to upload the video straight to YouTube from my phone and the VR photos to Facebook.  Then I can access them from the OQ Gallery and YouTubeVR apps ....Also, I didn’t have to “process” the video for YouTubeVR..it just worked!!

There is also a service that can create a VR application in a few minutes.
