I am a complete novice with Oculus and all-things virtual reality but I wish to start getting involved. I do not play any video games whatsoever. I wish to only have 'experiences'. What is the ideal Oculus headset to purchase for this purpose?

The Oculus go is a great starting point but only has 3 directions of movement. The Oculus Quest is new and has 6 dof but a bit more expensive. If you have a good PC and graphics card then you may want to think about the Oculus Rift S. The first 2 need a mobile phone to set up and are untethered.
Any more questions just ask. 😉I agree with Techy, the Oculus Go is a great intro into VR and does not cost you an arm and a leg. It's also very easy to use and if you have any problems, Oculus Support is fantastic imho.
It probably is still the very best VR platform for what it sounds like you want to do (= not so much games, mainly VR media experiences). Have a look at the Oculus Go on their website for more info;
