Hi friends,

Hope you are all enjoying the newly-arrived amazing Quest right now.

We are SKYBOX STUDIO, developer for the SKYBOX VR Video Player.

After weeks of developing/debugging, we are excited to bring SKYBOX online on Quest store since Day 1.

The first SKYBOX Quest v0.2.3 is online with the following improvements:

[Feature] Spatial audio support!!! (we would love to hear feedback regarding this)

[Optimization] Hold “Oculus” button on the controller to reset view

[Optimizaiton] Use grip button to drag screen

[Fixed Bug] Fixed crash caused by reconnecting AirScreen and improved stability

[Fixed Bug] Corrected the sorting order for filenames starting with number

[Fixed Bug] Next 180° VR video appears in the front instead of 90 degree on the left

There is ONE REGRET though...

We have to temporarily disable the SMBv1 streaming in v0.2.3 because of instability of the software during the final testing phase.

You would find that you could navigate to the SMBv1 shared folders but there are no videos inside.

According to Oculus, there will be a two-week cooling period which means we will not be able to release a new build until June 4th.

We promise to enable this feature as soon as we are allowed to.

We understand that there might be reviews about this lack of feature so we really appreciate if you could spread the word for us when you see one.

Lastly about what's next for SKYBOX >>>

We are working on a solution to support ~8k playback on Go/Quest/Gear VR (S8 and later models)/Rift S and we believe it would eventually provide a WAY BETTER viewing experience for you.

This feature is expected to release in beta channel in late June / early July.

Sign up for the beta tester (email at support@skybox.xyz) if you are interested 🙂

Thank you very much for your long time support and enjoy SKYBOX!

Cheers,

SKYBOX STUDIO

This issue still persists. Can we expect an update anytime soon?

Just received the update. SMBv1 works perfectly now! Thanks for this great app!

I hadn't realised there was an update.  Scrolling through lists is much faster but the main improvement I've seen for me so far is that clicking in the timeline to jump forwards and backwards is now much better than before.  It was very hit and miss before whether it would work but it looks really good now.
