I just found out that I do not have any fuel for my portable refinery,  Too put it back I have to use TRS.   press the right thumbstick down does not do anything.  It there a chart for the Rift S that helps me figure out the letters.  I know what the L and R triggers are but what are the other two on the side called?  For all my tools in order for them to work, I need all their boxes marked right?

You press in the right stick to pick up the portable refinery. You have to hold it down for a second, like many of the button presses.

Is there a way to remove structures you build? I know some devices like the refinery can be picked up again but i placed some random ass walls and floors before i understood how the system worked, can i scrap them and get the materials back somehow?

Also, i found a drop pod and got a quest to upgrade my exosuit. But at the time i did not have antimatter so i had to leave it behind. I have antimatter now but i have no way to find it again (Tried flying above the general area for 10 minutes but it was impossible. These worlds are big). I still have the exosuit quest in my log but it seems i cannot finish it.

I just got my first exosuit upgrade when I happened upon a drop pod last night.  I didn't have all the materials with me to unlock it so I had to leave and obtain more.  I dropped a save beacon to mark the spot so I could return to it easily.
I don't recall there being an actual mission added to my log for this so I don't know if missions put down a waypoint for you.
I believe you can have 5 save beacons on any given planet.  Supposedly there is a way to color code the beacons so the markers appear differently but I haven't been able to do this successfully.
After I upgraded the exosuit, I picked up the save beacon and will use it for another location if I need it.  These things are really useful.

Thanks, Rob for the tip.  I hope I do not need fuel for them and they are already built. 🙂

@bigmike20vt I believe there is a save editor, but I would worry that once you start down that path, it will make everything feel trivial in the same way that receiving that huge sum of money did. I’d rather dump the money on the biggest freighter you see (or a series of freighter trade-ins if that’s what it takes). If you gain the power to overrule RNGesus, you’ll never be happy with what the universe randomly offers up anymore.

Generally i agree with you, if it is a game I plan on playing a lot there is no way i would want to cheat usually.

I have no intention of breaking any game rules and the editor will be uninstalled once i have made the change.... however I dont have enough time to bother making more than 1 mobile base... base building is not really my thing so i will only do it once, so this will be a 1 stop shot to 1) replace my freighter with the Capital S class ship modeled off the imperial destroyer and 2) to reduce my money down to 2 million (i legitimately found some ancient tech which i sold for 1.9 million credits).

Thanks guys for your perspectives on this.  When I get to a freighter I think I'll just take whatever is offered.  I'm not gonna lie though, I really hope I get offered a good one.

When you're in the build menu to put down the save beacon, you can go up one more menu level to the colour selection--I assume this is what colours the marker icon. Same with the base building pre-fabs, there are several colour schemes to choose from, if you go up one more menu level before placing it down.

... reasonably 'easy' credits can be earned by mining for Platinum in the asteroid belts, with the upgraded storage in Beyond it is much easier to haul loads!  I normally spend about half an hour mining Platinum (Gold & Silver are always a bonus) after each jump, it makes getting the millions needed for hiring/upgrading less of a chore and is good fun too.

I discovered tonight that I can spot the asteroids that contain platinum by their unique shapes. A few minutes of mining just outside my local space station and I had several hundred platinum to sell.

I sent my frigates out on their first group mission, but it was a bust--all three had to be recalled early due to catastrophic damage. Now I've got to climb all over them repairing components. The first frigate only needed tritium for repairs, so that was no problem. The second needed pure ferrite, and I ran out half-way through, so now it's down to the planet to collect rocks. Not sure why the fleet commander has to do the monkey work, but whatever... I'll have to finish that tomorrow, then I think I should get back to the main quest.

Where do you buy this for the Rift or is it only Rift-S?  I don't see it in the Oculus store... or is it a Steam title?

steam only for now but it works fine....... it is not native support but you can use OpenComposite if you do not like steamVR.

@nalex66 i think you were unlucky or did you send them off on a really hard mission?    I have done 4 so far, 3 were successes and 1 ended with my ship getting mullared and i needed 150 silver to fix.

they are profitable however and worth sticking with. maybe stick with 1* difficulty for now?.
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂

Hello. My name is Harv. I'm a VRoholic. It's been 13 days since I've used VR (well, apart from setting up the Rift that I gave a mate of mine in Margate) and I'm not feeling good. At all.

I long to see the flora and fauna of No Man's Sky. I long to see Coriolis space stations. I long to see tits in my face watching VR porn.

I'm back to civilisation tomorrow.

Fucking hell. 😄
