Can the Rift S use external sensors?

I'm wondering because I want to get 360 degree tracking with my rift S

    In theory the controllers could be tracked, but that isn't supported. The headset itself is impossible to track because it has no IR lights on it like the old Rift had.

    The Rift-S controllers don't work with the Rift.
    There's no forwards or backwards compatibility between Rift and Rift-S for Touch, the remote or the sensors.

    At least the Xbox One wireless controller works fine with both, lol!

    True, which is handy for Sub Nautica, it really needs the extra buttons.

    I have good battery life with my Xbox One controllers.

    Ya, Xbox one wireless battery life is 30 hrs with rechargeables, 40 hrs with alkalines.  I can’t even remember when I last needed to replace them.
