quest wont connect

ok iv done everything to make sure my pc is quest link compatible.
im using an anker cable

my pc refuses to even acknowledge that there is something plugd in
it will charge the quest but that's all

suggestions ?

Are you positive the cable you’re trying to use us USB?
I'm assuming you’ve downloaded and installed the Rift software to your computer?

like i said i did everything
yes the software is fully upgraded
and im using a usb to usbc ankor cable thats supposed to be link compatible
id get the official link cable but refuse to spend another $70 on this if i have no proof it will work
as it is when i plug it in my pc doesn't see the device at all

The reason I ask what cables you’re using is that I’ve come across a lot of people buying USB 2 thinking they are USB 3. 

For example I have an Anker Powerline+ 1.8m that is USB 3 and works with Link. Anker also make a Powerline+ 2m that’s USB 2 and therefore won’t work. 

EDIT: Just realised my error in my first post, was meant to say Are you positive the cable you’re trying to use is USB 3’
