Easter Egg Hunt

We were just doing an Easter egg hunt with my son and I was thinking how cool it would be if there were eggs to find in the Tuscany demo. I'm still pretty new to Unity, but maybe I'll give it a shot later today. It should be pretty easy, right? Just create an egg model, assign colors, hide them around the level, and add an action (left click or A button) to pick them up. Maybe even an onscreen counter that can be toggled visible/hidden like the fps info.

Post here if you are going to work on this too.

Nice screenshot, that was fast. I made a quick egg model in blender and just finished downloading Unity.

Anyone know how we should share modifications of Oculus demos / code? Is there a SVN or git repository that we can checkout and commit to? The license agreement said that we must share any code we release, but I haven't figured out how.

.blend files are not allowed to be uploaded, but you can get my egg model here: http://www.festatech.com/files/EasterEgg.blend

I modified the Rift Tuscany Demo and added 20 colored eggs! Download it here: http://www.festatech.com/files/RiftEasterEggHunt.zip (75mb)

This is my first time working with Unity and I must say that it is pretty cool and easy to use. I didn't add a click to collect feature because I don't know how to do that yet, so you'll just have to count and keep track.

There are 20 eggs total, 4 of each color. Happy Hunting!

I'll post screen shots with locations tomorrow.

i could only find 10! it was fun, haven't searched for easter eggs in a good 20 years, seems a fitting activity on this easter.

This is awesome! I couldn't help myself and found two eggs (I don't have a Rift yet). I'll save the rest for when I do. In ~4 hours you made the demo a fun little game -- I think that's impressive. Keep it up!

Here's the solution: http://www.festatech.com/files/EasterEggSolution.zip. Not all of the screenshots are dead giveaways, but the images should help.

Thanks for playing! I'm glad that you guys enjoyed it.

The next step would be to let the user pick them up by clicking on them, although some out of reach and only visible from a distance.
