Windows 10 2004 Performance Issues [Solved]

Strongit

I made the mistake of updating to Windows 10 version 2004 and I'm now having issues with almost all of my VR games.  The less demanding titles like Zero Caliber still work fine but just about anything else is getting poor framerates and stuttering.  This happens through link and remote desktop but performance is better via RD.  Turning down the detail only helps a little.

I have disabled game mode, disabled hardware GPU scheduling, rolled back my graphics driver, nothing seems to help.  If there's anyone who has found a solution please let me know but for now I've resigned to just play standalone titles until some fixes roll out.

Solution:
I narrowed the issue down to SteamVR and the thing that finally fixed it was to uninstall it, run CCleaner to clean out leftover registry entries, reboot then reinstall it and move it to another drive with more free space.  Everything's running nice and smooth although it did reset my steam home environment.

I'm using the latest win10 2004 with latest updates and nvidia 442.19 and all's well.  Might depend on your PC and if you really think it's a problem you can always roll back to win10 1909 (google how to do this = pretty easy).

2004 version installed here too and no performance issues either with latest Nvidia drivers (I actually have 452.06)

I did more troubleshooting and it doesn't appear related to the update.  Not sure what it is to be honest.

@TomCgcmfc Are you still using the Rift cv1 w/2x sensors & Win10 2004? @enigma01 Which HMD are you using?

I've been hesitant to upgrade as worried it will negatively affect performance and/or USB, etc. I'm cv1 with 4/sensor on Oculus v16 drivers, Win 10.0.18363 Build 18363 and all working swimmingly. Zero issues.

Ya Rift cv1 w/2 sensors, win10 2004.  All works fine but to be honest I probably should have stuck with win10 1909 for a while longer.  Every feature update always seems to take a bit of fiddling with drivers and settings.  I actually think 1909 was the best update so far.

Nice, I'm using 1903, works perfectly - if I used an older version, the kids probably could no longer play Minecraft Dungeons 😉

Btw, I recently lost sound in Vimeo Videos again, it has been working and the stop did not seem caused by new Oculus software, as it happened in-between updates. I have sound in Oculus Video, only the Vimeo videos are affected - I might start to blame Vimeo, lol.
If anyone has a chance to check for this sound error, I'd greatly appreciate it. I wonder if I could be missing an updates codec or something...

I've narrowed it down to SteamVR.  Games installed and played directly through oculus home run just fine and home itself is a solid 72fps.  Went into developer options under steamvr and enabled the in headset performance monitor and it's always red.  I'll try on the steam forums.
