Does the headset support HDMI or usb type 3?

I'm trying to get into VR, but I have been running into the problem of my laptop not having a displayport. Does The Oculus Rift S support HDMI, and if not, is there an adapter i can buy that would let me use it with my laptop?

No, you need display port for the Rift S.
Adapter will not work to best of my knowledge.
I have not seen any reports of anyone getting it to work that way.

You sure those last 6 characters are right? Seems strange to just repeat them, and I can't find any google results for it.

I believe your laptop has a usb-c capable display port.  You will probably just need a usb-c to displayport adapter.  Lots are available on Amazon and do not seem to cost much.  I don't use one so I cannot say which one works best.  Maybe contact Oculus Support and see what they recommend.

Unfortunately Oculus say it MUST be DP (or mDP to DP with ONLY Oculus included adapter).

No third party adapters for mDP, HDMI or USB-C will currently work.

From what I read on it's specs sheet the ROG Strix G712LV  has a HDMI 2 port
