Just to add, I had real issues running NVidia surround with my Rift connected with SLi enabled on my 1080's. It would often disable SLi, seems a driver issue with a loooong post on the NVidia forums. They don't seem to bothered to fix it, I have to …
You have to be a complete dimwit to damage a CPU/GPU from overclocking. Unless you try and add 10GHz straight away the worst that can happen is either a system crash or it wont POST and you have to reset the BIOS.
I'm using a founders edition, only…
I need one too, I let my Mum try my Rift and as soon as the demo started (where you are on a platform, skyscraper thingy) she got scared, pulled it off and threw it on the floor! Leaving a bit scratch on it.
Guess what I said, stuff you wouldn't u…
I'll eat my own arse if this is a success. I suspect they will get a lot of early sales but they will drop off quickly.
The problem as I see it, the Switch is competing not just with the xbox and PlayStation but also the iPad and mobile devices to…
PC World has over 320 stores, 2 employees per store is over £10Million on wages alone. Factor in other costs such as the rent that would be charged and it could easily get over £15+ Million in the UK alone per year!
Not only that but PC World ar…
I use foot controllers as I only have 1 arm, it takes a lot of practice to get it right and even after years of practice it's still not intuitive. 3d rudder, frag pedals (bit crap) and Scythe all make foot controllers. I have the Scythe ones after t…
That's a little different, GPU's are not a new market and there is already competition and demand for faster GPUs. The fact is that to drive 4K on a HMD we would need a sudden 100% jump in performance. That just isn't possible in the near term. To m…
At £199 I'm not buying. I wasn't that interested anyway so to get a sale from me it would have had to be below £100.
I'm more interested in seeing if the extra sensor it comes with enables "room scale" tracking.
The problem is that there is no GPU on the market that could possibly run 4K @ 90fps that VR requires. Hell, you could use a pair of 4K screens on a HMD but if there is nothing to actually drive the then whats the point.
They were very vocal about integrating VR in Dirt where they have been silent on F1 2016. Shame because Dirt Rally is probably the best VR experience you can get.
I doubt it will be in the initial release but as Rally has been so well received It ma…
The red tint is very common, I seem to remember there being a poll and over half of users see it. At the time I didn't notice is much but since then I notice it on any dark area.
I really think a colour calibration tool would help a lot of people.
People that use game pads should be burned as a heretic. No if, not buts, it's wrong and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
(you can put me in the not going to use camp)
Wrong using all 4 slots in pairs will be dual channel, he may be using 2x4 and 2x2. We did use Tri channel for a while in the Nehalem boards but went back to dual for consumer stuff. X99 boards are quad channel.
I've reported Oculus to the UK trading standards for you to see if they are breaking distance selling rules. I'd suggest you do the same. I've also reported them for not providing a contact telephone number and the long periods of silence during RMA…
My only gripe is that I cant bind the Ctrl key to reset the view to a different button (on the wheel for example) From my seated position I have to move to reach it which means I'm then no longer centred!
As for the image quality, excellent. It's …
NVidia works better on Project cars (much better) if that's your thing. However, I'd suggest either the RX480 or GTX1060. Both about the same money as a 970 and much, much better.
Even running Windows it's no good. The graphics in iMacs are at best laptop MXM cards and at worst integrated Intel. Neither is remotely suitable for VR.
If you are in the UK contact trading standards. Distance selling regulation means they have to take it back, it's the law. They can't charge a restocking fee but you have to pay the return postage.
I'm not sure I'd try them as they have Isopropanol on them, on plastic lenses it can cause them to go cloudy and permanently damage them. Could be a very expensive mistake.
