Well I can only speak for myself and my units, but yes my Quest has more God Rays than my Rift CV1. Whether that makes the Quest faulty or not I have no idea. I figure it is what it is.
My CV1 I could hardly tell any, so maybe I got lucky wi…
Ah the good ole Red X is back, guess the Rift S software just does not like me having the Rift S mic disabled. It says I have no audio LOL.
Too bad the mic was such a defective weak spot of the Rift S, at least for me. My USB mic working great.
He may like to think that, however can't say I have ever seen a shortage of them or out of stock in some of the large online stores. Which if they could not build them fast enough I would think there would be. I had my Quest in one day from …
I like my Quest and will certainly be having a look at the tethered option when available out of curiosity.
Only downside to the Quest for me is mine has fairly significant God Rays (more than my CV1 did) and the heat generated. Maybe when used teth…
Just my observation having used my Rift S now for about 4.5 months.
1) This one did not bother me, the image is still good enough in my eyes and no God Rays. Nice bump in image clarity.
2) Can't say I can tell a difference really, perhaps m…
Yay, this update seems to have fixed my no audio message with red x I was getting in Oculus Home. Using a USB mic and have mic in Rift S disabled. Showing all green now, thanks for that Oculus!
Hoping it stays that way anyway.
Edit: Also of note th…
It would be nice if they could fix the mic issues with either firmware or software.
I am having my doubts they can, so using a USB desktop mic. It works at all times, something my Rift S mic will not do.
Well the light in the headset should be white, if orange that reflect a problem like maybe needing a firmware update or it is not being recognized.
Try a manual uninstall of Oculus:
* Disconnect your computer from the internet.
* Back up any Oculu…
Working great for me.
Cept I always get a red notification in O…
I think Oculus may also have underestimated the number of Rift CV1 users that would bail and go with another higher spec headset this year. I myself did not as I went with Rift S, but I am one of a very few that did not in the forums I frequent.
I wouldn't think it would be.
While they seem to have streamlined it fairly well based on the tech talk, it still has to go through more in the pipeline to render a final display in the headset.
I think it will still open the door for Quest…
Depends on how well the tethered Quest can run PC games, especially the more demanding ones.
I doubt it will be replacing my Rift S anytime soon.
However for the near future I do not see Rift type device getting much if any attention.
I do own both…
Thanks much for the feedback @sford52 .
All my drivers - motherboard, usb, gfx, audio are up to date and as I mentioned I have several other Oculus and other VR games that run quite well without a glitch. Also my Windows 10 version 1903 is up to dat…
Uninstalled again and made sure everything was cleaned out.
Now it crashed to desktop right after loading whilst Liv was first talking . Again it asked me to submit the report including my name and email address - not sure why they offer that option…
