Hey Bino, thanks so much for testing. I just put together a different build with slightly different controls. Now you just tap to move forward and you have to turn your head to look around. Also swiping up and down performs crouch/stand.

I designed this to work nicely with or without a controller, but I think it's most fun with a controller.
Controls
Use the left joystick to move forward/back/strafe
Use the right joystick to do 30 degree rotation snaps on the X Axis and 180 degree rotation snaps on the Y Axis.
Right shoulder can be used to add blocks. Left shoulder can be used to remove them.
The A button will bring up the main menu.
The B button eyedrop the color of the block you're looking at.
You can use the DPad up and down to raise and lower yourself.
Left and Right on the DPad will change your current brush.
Select will toggle between Painting and Creating.
By default, construction of blocks is done along a plane that is based on the normal of the face of the block you clicked. You can hold down the right shoulder or touchpad to continue drawing about this plane. You can also create blocks in mid-air use the plane.
Start will toggle on a fixed mode where blocks are drawn at a fixed distance from you. You can use this to create circular shapes, and also do pull extrudes if you move yourself while drawing.
When in construction plane mode, press Y to enable the Match height mode, try it out. X will enable locking, allowing you to easily draw straight lines.

A play though should take about 5 mins or less, you are finished when there are no more glowing sigils on the ground near you. Could someone please play to the game to make sure it runs properly?

A few things,
This looks awesome! I love chilling in this environment! I want to read a entire book while in this cafe.
Speed is about 30fps with a few performance spikes here and there. I wouldn't worry too much, my app jumps between 30/60fps which in my case is due to having tons of polygons visible due to a voxel based world.
It's probably too late to want to change this, but the first person controller with the touchpad will easily make people nauseous. I would recommend moving forward when touching the pad, but not rotating. To rotate, the player physically rotates their body.
You could also add in snap rotations when the player swipes forward or back. This also works with a Steelseries Zero controller, and I would recommend rotation snaps when using the controller too.
The background music does not loop.
This might kill performance, but I would love having some particles in the cafe!
It loaded fine. I thought it was strange to have a 2d shooter in a 3d environment though. The plane spinning made me a bit motion sick.
It was a fun game though, and I thought it was very polished

The extra weapons and most of the sound effects are missing in this build, but it's otherwise a fairly complete, bite-sized turn-based strategy artillery game with a few surprises. Well-suited to those sensitive to sim sickness. I'm hoping to finish some changes before the deadline, but I'm having a lot of trouble getting builds successfully uploaded.

Thanks for testing the build! Lots of good notes here and in fact I took out the touchpad rotation already because of previous tester feedback. I posted that build later in the thread if you're interested!

VERY IMPORTANT: Before you start this app you MUST enable Bluetooth on your Note 4 and make it visible to other devices for 2 minutes.
You can either move forward with a second device or turn on tap to pedal in the menu (However you control it make sure Bluetooth has been turned on as mentioned above.)
Yeah, I have some performance issues with up average of 250 draw calls with one camera.
I don't have a Gear VR. My first build appeared to be no good this one appears to be more stable.
