[WIP] Turret Defender

Here is the game I am currently working on solo style. Still lots of work to be done in the next week but there is an end in site now. Things looked bleak before the weekend started but it's starting to come together now.

    Would be nice if the turret had some drift in it so it didn't look like it was strapped to your face.
    Might add some challenge as you'd have to wait for the guns to rotate before you could start firing.

    Not sure if I could do that with the timeline now, I still have lots of stuff in the pipe for this week but one thing I would like to do is add in recoil to give it a nice feel of movement.

    I do agree that that one solution would be to have a 360 dome where the guns rotate to your position but that was going to take too much time for the jam.

    I'm currently getting the reward system for destroying asteroids in place now, and also putting togethe all the point system and testing all 7 weapons, along with balancing the gameplay for the later stages. I have a lot of plans to make this much better game post jam but the one man team thing and holding down a regular day job hurts for getting things done as quickly as I would of liked.

    My end goal was to create a fun fast game to show at the meetups we go to and showcase the GearVR, and the jam was just incentive for me to finish something under a deadline.

    Controls:
    360 degree game play, standing or swivel chair recommend.
    Tap to fire
    Swipe to swap from guns to missles when you have achieved the upgrade around stage 4.


    * Defend your Space Cruiser from attacks, using your Turret as the last line of defense, while you make your way through 10 jump gates to escape and win!

    * Pick up power-ups along the way, by destroying asteroids and enemies.

    * Upgrade your weapons or choose power-ups at each Jumpgate. These include The Seeker, The Destroyer, and guided and unguided missles!

    * Try to beat your high score and top your kills.

    * Progressing waves of enemies, increases their difficulty and their Ferocity as stages are complete.

    * Conserve your energy and avoid depleting your Hull points. Once your hull points are gone Game Over man!


    **Known Issues / Upcoming features***

    * Sometimes swipe gets triggered by accedent when selecting/deselcting missles
    * Cockpit Judder / performance still an issue until I optimize further post jam
    * guided missles are bugged a little bit but they work
    * Some minor text rendering issues and what not
