APK permission requests differences

I noticed that most of the APK just want 3 permissions if you install them. But some APK seem to ask for like any permission that exists. Like changing SD card content etc.

How Do you think about this? Mostly harmless? :)

As far as I know, to submit an app for approval for the Oculus Store, APKs need to at least have camera and external card
read permission so I think those two are to be expected. For APKs built with UE4, I heard that Gear VR builds currently request a lot of stuff by default. Not sure if that will be tightened up in the future or not.

I think the mobile SDK 0.5+ got rid of the camera permission. I'm not worried as a consumer when an app asks for a lot if permissions, but I think it does create potential friction at the point of sale.
