Difference betwen spatialization algorithm

hi  Everybody,
i just Wonder: what is the difference between the two possible spatialization algorithms "Hrtf" and " Standard"?
i'm just about to Start experimenting with 3D Audio in Games. 
It seems to me as if it works with both options,  so whats the difference tecnically?

Hi Peli,

Traditional "3D panning" in games uses vector based amplitude panning, which just pans the sound from side to side. HRTF on the other hand models how the human hearing system works to provide full 3D sound simulation. You can read more about it here:
