    Welcome to the Oculus Forums.

It is great that you are interested in starting development for VR. If you are just beginning, I would encourage you to check out the useful documentation on our website:

From there, development using a game engine would be the quickest and most effective way to give you the experience you need to build a working prototype. Further tutorials are available at the following sites, depending on which game engine you decide you would like to begin learning. Unity specifically is recommended for people who are just beginning with VR game development. There is a wealth of resources available, including project guides to help you make simple, yet functional applications (such as their roll-a-ball demo).

Both engines offer both how-to documents, and video tutorials.
