OVR Avatar Hands disappear in Build

I am using Avatar hands and controllers in my app and they work fine in the Unity (5.5.2f1) editor, included the 3 AvatarSurfaceShaders in the Graphic settings but after building the controllers and hands are gone. Every interaction with objects (grab, touch) is messed up too of course - what did i overlook? I am using Touch controllers and VRTK.

    This issue was resolved in Avatars SDK 1.13. If you were to use the newest version of Unity and Avatars SDK, does this problem still occur? If so, please provide a copy of your project for our review.

    Can you describe which steps you took/what software versions of Unity and Avatars you are using to encounter this issue as well? Thank you.
