NPC Avatars?


My client and I are building a project that intends on using OVR avatars as veritable NPC's. My question is: is it possible to use several oculus accounts—each with their own customized avatar—in game(unity3d)? Is such a practice possible? Otherwise, is it possible to request a customized aka generate new avatars in the OVRSDK via some sort of constructor(i.e. material=32, hair=10, face=3, etc)?

    I'd also be interested in hearing about some options regarding this kind of setup, besides using dummy accounts

    Welcome to the Oculus Developer Forums.

    I am asking the Avatars team for more information about the possibility of this on the platform. I will update this thread when I have more information to share.

    Yes. That's the way we are currently doing it, but it is tedious and we have no way of ensuring the accounts won't be deleted in the future from non-use or migration. A constructor would be excellent, but ycagwyw. I appreciate the investigation.
