Sample Framework Clarity - UI

I'm developing for unity and I'm struggling with the sample framework scene examples. Each scene appears to have similar prefabs, but when you dig down into them they are not. I'm looking for clear direction on how to create an interface I can interact with using a pointer. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. The first example I found was in the Teleport scene. The OVRCameraRig has the TeleportController component attached to it. But the exact same gameobject is in other scenes without that component. So by looking at the scene hierarchy, there may be little or no difference between the scenes. I understand the value as that limits the number of Prefabs, but it's difficult to see how things are set up. That's common throughout, but I'm sorting through it. Thanks again.
