Pixels and Subpixels - What Uses the GPU?

Hi,  let's say we have an AMOLED screen - 2K and an LCD screen - 2K.  The AMOLED uses a diamond pentile subpixel matrix, with 2 subpixels per pixel and the LCD has "whatever" matrix with 3 subpixels per pixel.  Do those extra subpixels mean the graphics card is working harder even though they have the same resolution?

I'm asking this for the obvious reason that different HMDs have different amounts of subpixels - will the performance be different?
