WENDY—Play It Now [Bronze][Open Source]

Find on the Gear VR store or

Play as Wendy—a young woman who always imagined herself as a witch. Cuddled up with your pet cat, you sit alone one Halloween night, drinking wine and eating candy—you find yourself falling asleep and into a dream.

You awake in a magical tower with the power of telekinesis—tinker and move objects by simply looking at them for a second or so. Tasked with brewing a potion, you must solve a series of puzzles, collecting ingredients and adding them to a cauldron.

The game is designed to be a comfortable experience: have fun at your own pace without a time constraint or sore neck.

Looks good so far, i like the fact you can go at your own pace, esp with VR its easy to crick your neck on some action games because you forget

Thank you, Jay! I don't mind myself a fast paced VR games, but I want to make a game with constraints that could make it a comfortable experience for everyone. A game that my mom would enjoy to play.

Very nice. Like the boiling bubbles.

Thanks, Andres. And they look quite nice in 3D 🙂

Oh I love the new demo, what a great little environment! The object movement animations are very smooth and satisfying 🙂 Can't wait to play around with it!

Thank you! I want to polish animations to the point when it will be a joy just to hold objects in sight.

A few days ago, I have been joined by a game developer and artist Korigame. Now, it's two of us working on this project. Kori makes art, I write code, together we work on the game design.

Kori makes awesome art:

Some of his artworks were in my initial art references. So it's pretty cool to work with him. I enjoy our collaboration.

Reticles

The reticle is a procedurally generated mesh. At first I wanted to make it using a sprite sheet but sprites couldn't animate smoothly enough, so I decided to go with a mesh-based reticle. I can set any amount of segments—so it can be a triangle (3 segments), a square (4) or a circle (32). I can animate it smoothly by setting its completeness from 0 to 1.
