DK2 Setup on Windows 10

Hi there,

I'm feeling a bit lost after searching the Oculus developers site back and forth serveral times now.
My question simply is this: How do I set up my DK2 from scratch (drivers and all) on Windows 10?
Every way I followed lead to the download page which supposedly contains the runtime, but only offers the SDK. The SDK does not contain any setup files.
The OculusSetup.exe I found eventually somewhere else entirely (not in the Downloads section, oddly enough) only seems to work for the CV1.
I know there used to be a download page for runtime releases, the latest being 0.8 or something, I believe. Where has that gone to and why is it so hard to find?

Any pointers will be very much appreciated.

I just went through the process, here is what u need to do:

1) Uninstall your Oculus runtime and other software and restart. [NB: If upon restart your desktop is weird and no windows open, your Oculus needs to be turned off (in some cases it becomes the primary screen)]
2) Download the software here: https://www.oculus.com/en-us/setup/
3) Run it and let it begin downloading the drivers
4) Download the latest Nvidia Drivers and install them in the meantime. Don't restart until the drivers have finished downloading on Oculus
5) Go through the wizard, setting up an account etc. When you get to the bits about setting up the CV1, just skip most of it, including the bit where you have to plug in your rift and get it to detect etc. IGNORE THE WARNINGS ABOUT NOT DETECTED/NOT IN USB 3.0 PORT - just skip
6) The Home will open and you'll get a warning about the DK2 not being supported. Put the DK2 on and you will see that is not the case.
7) In the DESKTOP version of Home (both are always open), go to settings > general > Allow unknown sources - switch this last on
😎 Run the game you want that supports Oculus Rift

Aha, okay! Seems I got scared off too easily by the setup program. Following your steps I indeed made to the Rift store with a working DK2.

Thanks alot to both of you! 🙂

because they hid the setup, even google has a hard time to give the url...

https://www.oculus.com/en-us/setup/

Thanks for your quick reply, galopin. I think I found that page only through google, too. 🙂
Does the OculusSetup.exe work for the DK2 as well? The setup came to a point where it didn't seem to recognize the DK2.
