The Oculus VR Starter Kit Has Been Released!! This package gives you a
solid Framework to run around in your VR Environment and Interact with
Objects.

I wrote this for my students in the VR classes I teach, originally.
The goal was to get students past the technical stuff quickly so they
could go straight to telling their stories. Now in a couple of minutes
they can walk around and use objects in their environment.

Also in the past, with supplied scripts, there were problems with
memory issues in Unity. By writing all the code myself, I was able to
remove all these issues.

And of Course, Since this code is constantly being used in both
Class and Production Environments, It will always be updated with new
features.


I hope people Enjoy the kit and I look forward to seeing all the cool stuff people make with it.

After I received requests to Added pulling for Objects with Arced movement without Hinge or Configurable Joint Constraints. (Doors, Treasure Chest Lids Levers ETC...)
I came up with this. No Hinge or Configurable Joint Constraints were used. Also I added improvements to the Physics Helper script.

Thank you such much for creating this.  Most of the functionality I need for my project is in this package and saves me so much time.  Will version 2.7 still work with Unity 2017.4 or is it only 2018.1?

As of the next update you will have to use 2018 to use the kit. But I am waiting to do the pipeline versions until they are more stable.

Version 2.7 of the VR Starter Kit for Oculus has been Submitted to the Unity Asset Store:
Added Haptic FX for Held Objects. Improved  Collider Detection when pulling objects. Code Improvements. Now using Unity 2018. Updated Ovr Unity Utilities to VER: 1.25.2

not yet, but from what i read about it on the unity forums is that the developer just got his occulus go su i guess we will see this working sooner or later on the go/gear vr?!...
Well i for one would like a go/gearv working version of this as well ::smiley:
