I have a reason to believe that you guys screwed up Cable Link with 42+. The last time I used cable link I was on 41 and everything worked fine. Despite numerous driver updates, repairing the PC app, reinstalling the PC app etc. Cable Link does not work. AirLink still works though, so I don't think it's an Nvidia problem.

Tried multiple cables, they all transfer data through adb etc but they don't start the Link dash, I think Oculus software thinks I still enabled AirLink and refuses to launch dash over Cable.

Hello, could you add percentage to all the adjustment sliders ? because it is not easy to adjust with precision currently with -/+ without the value, please, thank you.

Or at least show the center/zero point.

Hey everyone, the team is working on an issue right on the PTC build after a few reports of folks being unable to login back in to the PC app with Quest PTC. If you're having trouble after updating, a workaround that's been fixing things so far is to restart the program using the Task Manager function in Windows. Look for the program called "OVRService" and stop that. You should be able to log in fine after that.

Any way to get added to this or is it really “closed”?

The Guardian System is a major culprit that causes massive stutters, glitching screen, and what I would describe as unplayable flickering when activated with PCVR. Restarting the headset solves the problem... that is until you move into and activate the guardian wall again while in PCVR. Then the stutter/glitching starts... and can not be stopped until you either restart the headset, on fully disable guardian. Activating passthrough mode while in PCVR also instantly cause this problem too and there's no turning back. Either restart your headset or fully disable Guardian. I've had to resort to playing PCVR with Q2 seated with Guardian disabled now. How are basic things like this that never used to be an issue becoming more and more frequent after every update? When Airlink first launched it was excellent!...but now this software continues to get worse and worse.

I have observed that this update is messing with side quest apps

Cable Link works for me. Although, there is a slight downgrade - now you have to make additional button press to into link. And also sometimes when you start Oculus app on PC, it sees the connected headset as "inactive" (green empty circle) and I have to physically re-plug it for the connection to become active again.

Because Meta doesn't care about PCVR. There has been no noticeable improvements to Link in a very long time. All updates are targeted towards standalone Quest 2 functionality, which is explained by it being the main focus of the device and standalone VR market being the hot thing right now. Still, it's a shame, they marketed Quest 2 as "all-in-one VR" initially, but now seems to abandon this concept.

Example: current virtual audio driver has compatibility issues with certain hardware they just don't care to try and fix. At least they could've added some debug functionality to change audio buffering settings, that would've most likely allowed people like me to work around the issues. But no. Why bother, right?

For me, Cable Link is how I use Quest 2 99% of the time. I just don't find most standalone apps appealing. I bought Quest 2 for image clarity, and what's the point of this amazing screen when you use mobile GPU to render the image? Desktop GPU will always be way ahead in capabilities to render beautiful virtual worlds, because of physics (approaching physical limit of node size push newer GPU's to be larger and more power hungry) while the main appeal of next-gen VR headsets is the reduction in size. There is a big push for streamed gaming, but it doesn't currently work even for slow TV-gaming for many areas because requires good internet infrastructure, not to mention the low-latency requirements of VR applications. So I just don't see the PC VR being replaced by anything if you want to experience beautiful VR worlds.

  • Link Sharpening; both the introduction and an improvement update
  • AirLink
  • 120 hz display support
  • Link Mobile ASW - AirLink framerate insurance mode

There's also the rumor of a new hardware device - 'Air Bridge' USB dongle for a seamless wireless PCVR experience.

PLEASE do something about automatic updates!  I don't want or need updates to apps and system without my say so.   It used to be you could select UPDATES when you saw the blue dots on apps in the app grid - and then select which ones to update and more importantly - WHEN to update.  I only have DSL internet - I couldn't play AT ALL yesterday because updates were happening right in the middle of game play.  Also - what in heck is up with the headsets starting themselves up?  I power down - and come back to find the headset ON and at 12% battery life.  WHY??!!

When is the Airlink MIC issue going to be fixed it works for a while in windows 10 and 11 after a full updates then the driver breaks the driver is STILL F**** dated for 2021 uninstalling reinstalling doesn't work. A FULL windows install only works then it breaks again AIRLINK or QUEST Cable same issue no mic default set all that **bleep** that oculus makes you check but wont **bleep**ing listen to users .

I agree, they added all those features and put siginificant work into AirLink, so if they didn't care, why did they bother in the first place? The real issue for me is that the PC app hasn't had a significant upgrade AT ALL. It's still the same GUI from the days of the Rift. Support told me to raise an "idea", but it feels like they will never update it. All this will do is make me move to Pico or Valve Deckard in future, something with proper PCVR support. There's no way any standalone headset will offer the same quality as a PCVR version.

I don't have this issue at all, I use PCVR pretty much all the time with a roomscale guardian and it works without any of the problems you're experiencing. In fact, for me with Guardian disabled in PCVR, it's a horrible experience, because it's not tracking properly and is jittery as hell to my every movement.

Please fix the usb connection issue on Windows.  My PC cannot detect the device recently and I don't know why. It works well when I connect to my Android phone BTW.

I agree with the commenter above. In my case, the image hangs in the helmet (on the PC with the picture is fine, and it continues to move without any hangs). On the 41 firmware I have not encountered such problems. It is not clear what is the level of compatibility with Windows 11 now. Because trying to solve this problem (freezing image in the helmet after some time of playing (using the original Oculus Link wire)), many suggest to enable the console in OculusDebugTool. In my case, this was not the solution. Anyway thanks for your work, hopefully PCVR will not remain without your interest!

Is this with PTC v44?  I'm not on the Quest PTC program and I've not had any problems with my Q2/rtx3090 with Link or Air Link using the current v43.

I'm really not sure why this is all a little hit and miss for some?  All I can suggest is that you work with Oculus support to try to resolve your issues.  Good luck mate and cheers.

I just got v44 now when I put the headset on it does not automatically know, I have to click the power button... Hopefully this isn't an advancement..

Oh oh oh I actually have a helpful tip for once! If you are one of the people (like me) who had to unplug their quest link cable every oculus pc software reboot and occasionally when link crashed?
I discovered that toggling AirLink on and off then waiting a few seconds resets the connection. Saves our usb ports some wear and tear. And the toggle is right there in the same link window.

v44 was already released. But no official post, RyanS?

And still nobody got app filiter of v41. WTF.

I have a recently replaced Quest 2 which my iPhone app can't see and it can't see my controllers (original controllers from 2020).

Will sideloading v44 help me ? Where can I get it ?

Is there a test version of the iPhone app I can try ?

I have tried every possible forum suggestion and I have a support ticket open for last few weeks waiting for a fix.

Quest 2 is stuck on pair the controllers screen, which I guess are still paired to my old Quest 2, which I was asked to return.

Need help ?

I have a similar problem,

my quest 2 is stuck in the initial setup at the controller pairing screen,

I tried my controllers with another quest 2  both pair without issues.

meta support told me they will replace my quest 2, which was 16 days ago,

they are still telling me they are having some logistic problems :(.

It would be nice to get the v44 update,

at least I would like to try to "repair" my device by updating it

Hey @doctor.oculus.2019 and @Philsko , there's an issue that the team is working on right now with some replacement headsets not being able to pair with controllers due to a version issue. They're trying to get a fix in place since there's no official place to download the v43/v44 software in order to side load it on your device. There are some community members that have had success using a version of the software provided by the community, but it's not something we'd officially recommend. There are some threads on the forums about this issue which we'll update as soon as the engineering team's given us more details in regards to a proper fix. Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for your patience! I know it's rough having to wait to jump back in.

Hi, thanks for the information.

I remembered yesterday what actually happened with my original 2 year old headset before I was asked to return it a few weeks back.

All was good, for some months before any problems where it had updated and booted with the Meta logo (don’t know what version that was introduced with).

I hadn’t got round to creating a Meta account. Then one day the headset said I needed to connect the device to a Meta account to continue. So I migrated my Oculus account to Meta. Next the headset wanted me to enter a code to proceed? But I couldn’t because the controllers no longer worked!

The only thing I find online was the factory reset process and after that I couldn’t link the headset with my phone anymore and controllers still didn’t work.

That’s when I went to support and received a replacement which didn’t resolve the issue.

So I think my original headset was on V43 but could not talk to my controllers which had been updating from time to time.

I have updated the replacement headset to v43 myself which hasn’t got me any further. The unit connects in the iOS Bluetooth list but the oculus app fails to pair. Although it’s difficult to prove the update was successful (it did do the ‘down arrow’ updating icon).

I have been giving a procedure by support to try the Windows app to pair the device with my account.

I’ve not seen the Windows app mentioned anywhere online, I’ll try that next.

Many thanks

@Ryanality

In my case its a bit different,
its not a replacement unit that won't pair to the controllers.

Its my original quest 2,  my Quest connects do  my phone my ipad and my pc without problems, i'm able to  configure wifi, even initiate streaming to my phone or my tv, i can pair a xbox controller without problems also, using the usbc port i also connected  mouse and keyboard to the quest hoping i could trick the setup ...without success.

I'm was able to pair my controllers to my GFs quest 2 without problems,
the first time i did this, her quest 2 instantly upgraded the firmware on my controllers.

My Quest still din't want to pair to hers or my controllers.

I'm actually not sure on what FW version my quest2 is right now but i think its V43,

I did a factory reset multiple times, also i tried to just let the quest sit in standby mode hoping that the device downloads a firmware update in the background, and restarted the device from time to time still hoping a fw update would happen and possibly bring the quest back to a working state.

But i never got any fw upgrade, so i assume the quest won't look for FW update until fully configured.

If I'm right, i hope i'm not, this should be changed with the next fw update.

Right now i'm draining the battery as low as possible hoping to reach a point that any volatile memory will be erased.

My quest is now a paperweight for over a month and its now day 22 since support told me i will get a new device, the replacement process still not started at least not from my perspective.
The Support team told me its because of some error in the process that they need to fix so the replacement process could start.

I work in an IT department myself, I am really amazed that a big technology company like Meta keeps customers waiting so long.

I just keep getting told by support "there is an error in the process, a team of specialists is working to solve the problem".
That is the only information I have been told repeatedly for over 3 weeks.

Mistakes happen that's quite normal, and i'm not angry either, just surprised, meanwhile tired of waiting, and frustrated.

after update v43 i'm having issues with my rift s , i've player before and it was fine , stopped for a while updated got back and now since v43 i have this static noise on image and sound. the image has something like tiny dots, similar to xmas lights and during the game there's some static noise.

It is not a hardware failure as it used to work fine before the update. every software update is just a mess..

Update the beta to 46.0.0.215.0 and could not acces my desktop pc anymore.

Googled and discovered this was a wide spread bug around the world.

Reported this bug and left PTC.

Downgrade to 44.0.0.169.455 and everything worked again.
How do i know when this bug is fixed to join again? is there a changelog with releasedates availble?
