If you receive this error message, it most likely means your video card is older and does not fully support DirectX 11 (DX11). Although you may have the DX11 software installed on your system, older GPUs will only utilize it in a sort of compatibility mode. The Oculus service actually requires your card to be fully DirectX11 compatible in order to function and will not work with older hardware.

Hi @cybereality would a GeForce GT 330 be compatible with DK2 (it supports DX11)? I have been trying for 2 days to get my DK2 going. Could this be my problem? Thanks in advance.

I have two GTX 780 SLI and it still does this. It was fine with the 5.0.1 runtime, but updating to 6.0.0 runtime caused this.

I am getting this and all my software is brand new. I literally bought everything that the founder told me to get. It's been working fine until this morning. It just stopped working when I turned on my computer this morning and shows the screen above. Reinstall did not help.

Hi I just get my Oculus headset today and I cannot figure out what to do. Client is running well so as server but still no connection. It says in Windows task manager:

DK2 Firmware 2_12

Runtime SDK 0.6.0.0 - Windows 7 64bit; i54690K; GTX 970

I will mention that without the runtime Windows is displayed on the headset as additional screen, however after installation - constant orange light. (and other light under the rubber cap is blue)

Please help!

Hi,

I have the same kind of problem. In the config utility it says "the service is disconnected" and all of the options in the rift display mode are greyed out so I cannot use them, also at the top of the display mode it says "OVRservice is not connected", I have an orange light on the top of the rift aswell. I have tried a few things but they havent worked!
