Headphones or Speakers?

I know where I weigh in on this topic, but I'm curious what y'all think.

Do you prefer to hear your VR soundscapes through headphones or through a speaker system? Do you have specific hardware recommendations? If so, let's hear 'em.

Also, do you think Oculus should build headphones onboard CV1? Why or why not?

Heh, it's interesting to look back on this post now in light of the Crescent Bay specs they announced at the Connect Conference. It had a very prototype feel to it, but I'm glad they are integrating headphones. How does everyone else feel about it now, after trying Crescent Bay?

I read an article by where they tested speakers vs headphones for surround sound in general, and headphones won by far. People could not hear the same amount of details and directional sound in even the top speakers. I think this applies to VR too, good headphones are just better.
I work as a graphic designer. In my spare time I do VR experiments, PC gaming and write for http://www.headphonesunboxed.com about Bluetooth and gaming headphones.

Wired are better. There are some odd bugs with bluetooth headsets right now.

What Windows version? I was on Windows 7 and had all annoying things happened. Moving to Windows 10 and everything is perfect. I did also get a new computer in the same change so Bluetooth hardware could have been the issue.

Sorry, I was talking about Gear VR. I haven't tried BT headsets on the PC. Though I've had bad luck with wireless headphones in the past so I've done strictly wired for a long time. I bet technology has improved. I should try again.
