Unless devs can do magic like Valve, this really looks like a solid RTX 3090 game to me, lol.

Not sure this article contains any news - game still slated for Q3 2021:

New shots from the PCVR version - might actually look worse than previous shots from the PCVR version (see the first post in this thread to compare)...

It's not "magic" it is Optimization. And there are entire video tutorials on how to Optimize VR Apps.

Considering that the 3090 is more of a Workstation card as opposed to a Gaming Card, I can't imagine any reputable Dev Studio would want to release a game that required a 3090 as a minimum spec.

Especially considering that most Dev Studios would like to make some money on their titles. The best way to make sure a software application suffers a monetary loss is to limit its audience to a few dozen people who reside... in a niche within a niche within a niche within a niche (Gaming --> VR --> PCVR --> High End GPU).

Luckily, the devs of Green Hell VR understand this, as they are targeting the Quest platform:

So clearly, a high-end GPU will not be required to enjoy the game 🙂

Doesn't it look totally awesome? We're really looking forward to it coming out! (っ ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)っ🎔

Fully agree - my only reservation is that lately having spent much time on Song in the Smoke, Green Hell could feel like "been there, done that" - but Song in the Smoke isn't modern day in the Amazonas - and graphics look much more realistic in Green Hell. I'll keep my fingers crossed 😁

I personally enjoy the lack of realism in VR experiences, especially if it is "intentional." Because then it feels like I have been transported to another realm or dimension. When we say "lack of realism" we are referencing the way our eyes interpret the world around us every day. However, what's great about VR is that it allows us to go beyond what we are already familiar with.

Pixel Ripped is the perfect example. As someone who grew up gaming in the 80's and 90's, it is downright magical to be transported in to a pixelated word.

Pixel Ripped can easily be experienced as far more immersive than a title that focused on realistic graphics, with the added bonus of feeling like you are in another world entirely. 😁
