YAY!

https://www.oculus.com/blog/lone-echo-ii-launch-date-and-price-revealed-plus-discount-for-lone-echo/

It is a Rift exclusive game, but supports Quest via Link/Airlink.

From today until the launch, Lone Echo 1 is reduced to $9.99us.

Lone Echo was a great game, I can't wait for the sequel.

Ready At Dawn have just announced that Lone Echo 2 has been delayed until later this year in order to meet the quality they want.

Yeah, it does take forever to get a quality experience ready for launch. I am glad that they are taking their time instead of rushing to market or trying to cut corners. We have so many existing PCVR titles that are rushed, so it is nice to look forward to something that is both "high-end" and "done right."

And there's only 4 months left in the year, so it's not that long a wait! 😁

Yep, not too bad if it sticks to this year. But a shame they are missing the relaunch of the Quest 2.

If it's delayed to the end of the year, there may be a temptation to hold it a little more to co-ordinate with a Quest 3 release. Early 2022.

Just some speculating!

Intel 5820K OC@4Ghz, Titan X (Maxwell), 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4, ASRock X99 Taichi, Samsung 500Gb 960 Evo M.2, Corsair H100i v2 Cooler, Inateck KTU3FR-4P USB 3 card, Windows 10 Pro v21H1 (19043.1348)

Just saw this on Reddit and came to post about it. Good news! I finished my second playthrough of Lone Echo on Saturday, so it's fresh in my mind and I'm ready for the sequel.

i7 5820K @ 4.25GHz | RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 | Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 | Corsair DDR4 3000 32GB | Corsair HX 750W
SSDs: Intel 660p M.2 2TB, 3x Samsung Evo 1TB | Startech PCIe 4x USB 3.0 | Startech PCIe 2x USB C 3.1 gen2

Maybe @kojack can change the title of this thread to October 12 ? 😀

Sad to see so little response in here - this is the current response I got on Reddit posting the same news after posting it here... So the interest is there:

Interestingly, a similar post in the Oculus Subreddit has fewer upvotes than I have in the Virtual Reality Subreddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/pxat9h/lone_echo_ii_will_be_releasing_on_october_12_2021/

- but the Virtual Reality Subreddit may contain more high-end VR enthusiasts - with big rigs and experience. Many new Quest 2 owners may not know much about Lone Echo - and may not own a rig capable of playing the game. Otherwise I would have expected many more upvotes in the Oculus Subreddit. 2c.

Facebook is the default platform for Oculus VR, not reddit.

It seems obvious that over time this forum has become a hub for Customer Support. With the Facebook Account Login requirement, most of the conversation does happen on Facebook now.

A fact that has been stated repeatedly each time something like reddit or this forums lack of activity is used to draw negative (and false) conclusions.

You always boast about reddit, but what is painfully obvious... is that Facebook VR Groups have the most conversations from the largest number of people around all things Oculus VR.

I saw multiple posts about this news over on Facebook, with plenty of people responding positively. There are quite a large number of consumers over on Facebook expressing their opinion as to how Lone Echo remains the greatest VR Experience to-date; a sentiment that I agree with. 😁

I am not sure how you can conclude that Quest 2 owners don't know of Lone Echo nor contain a PC that can run it considering that you have also posted about how Quest 2 is the most dominant PCVR headset on Steam.

Surely if there are more Quest 2 owners on Steams PCVR platform than Index owners, then there are plenty of Quest 2 owners that are capable of a PCVR title like Lone Echo.

Looking at reddit alone to draw conclusions is futile. Go look at the Facebook VR Groups, where nearly all Oculus VR consumers now reside. That will give a clearer picture.

Lastly, it would be nice to have discussions without turning everything in to "PCVR vs Oculus." Oculus PCVR is doing fine and going strong. There's no need to keep inventing reasons to attack it.

Thanks for changing the title - I really hope this game sells well!

Btw, interesting if there will be some combat included, although that would go against the original non-violent game...
