I guess the game will launch in 1 hour or so... 🤔  For now here's the brand-new launch trailer - launched 27 min ago:

- and btw, here's the cinematic trailer:

Look's great! 🙂

ps. have you ever imaging how this same post (same info) will be presented in VR? 🙂

Will there be voice instead of text? Prerecorded avatar talk? 🙂 Need we VR-screenshots?

And how to do it so not to spend much more time to "write" it? Or text posts will be forever winners? 🙂

Some auto-converters from text/images to VR (with robotic audio?) 😄

Some first impression screenshots:

"If the hands are good, everything is great" - ancient Chinese proverb 😉 There's full finger tracking

My settings, but I upped res to 100 and then set SteamVR to res 200% using RTX 3090. The game is as demanding as Wizards Dark Times and Lone Echo 2

You start here

Nice textures - this game often will make you feel small 🙂

There're many great vistas in the game - and I love sightseeing 🙂

Some wooden textures

I have to cross that bridge...

My sword and I are going to join that party...

Nice textures - but there're also some very low-res textures here'n there

Climbing never goes out of style

Great view distance - looks awesome

Opponents may not exactly be Mensa International members, but they do have great dynamic shadows - check the shadow on the ground

Impressive buildings

Did I mention the dynamic shadows? 🙂

You'll get free nice art too in this game

20211117215823_1.JPGAgain this game will make you feel small. Tempestfall feels like the little brother to Asgard's Wrath...

A nice and detailed map

Got my sword upgraded

Entering a crypt - torch in my right hand

The game could use more polish, but I still had a great time. My rating 4/5 for now. The game will get a "hard mode" campaign option later, so you do get the feeling the game isn't totally finished. Some may find the game too easy right now, but so far I enjoy experiencing the different locations - and I'm not that much into the fighting anyway.

Thinking the game didn't look very taxing in the trailers I boldly started out using res 300% with the Index and maxed in-game settings, but that did not exactly go well, lol. Then I tried res 250%, but still significantly below 90 fps. Then tried going for lowest antialiasing and back to res 300% - still didn't work well. Then all the way down to res 200%, and then I got 90 fps several places. Then upped antialiasing back to the highest, and still got 90 fps many places. So res 200% with all in-game settings maxed worked nicely-ish. Not sure antialiasing on low or the highest makes much performance difference - with res 200% low and max antialiasing look much the same to me. Kept it on the highest though.

Takes a lot of time finding the sweet performance spot, lol. Expect much the same performance in this game as in Wizards Dark Times.

Game is also available in the Rift Store - a must have if you like VR 🙂

Btw, I thought I'd check if the Steam version of the game supports native Oculus drivers - and it does! Worked flawlessly using the CV1. Thus unless you want to be able to stop the game from patching, there may be no reason to get the Rift version instead of the Steam version.

Even CV1 with ss 2.0 needs a 3090 or better - because I do get dips below 90 fps. That's using Rift CV1 ss 2.0 and all in-game settings maxed.

There are many low-res textures in the game, and to my surprise CV1 looked quite good, even with the SDE. In fact I think CV1 provides a more coherent experience than the Index - because low-res textures really stand out using the Index, but are much more hidden with the CV1 thanks to the SDE. I'm still going to prefer Index for this game due to the much clearer image quality for background scenery and objects. If some are still using CV1, this hmd still stands tall in Tempestfall.

Did take just a few more shots this evening:

I love finding chests 🙂

Does make you think of Asgard's Wrath...

I've just arrived here - but exploring this (un)dead city will have to wait until tomorrow

The game has many flaws, feels unoptimized, even many low-poly objects, but it's just fun to play - it's the game I focus on for the moment.

Seems very few in here care for the latest and greatest VR experiences - at least compared to Index SubReddit. For those who wish to participate in discussions about Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall, you can go here where I also posted some screenshots from the game:

A few more shots - this game is getting better and better as it gradually opens up - it's a big game, I've already spent 5 hours playing it and probably am far from completing the game.

Just a nice room - to show scale and lighting

Exploring crypts is fun too - you constantly have access to a torch - and many textures look nice even if this is not Alyx nor Boneworks ultramersion textures

Just a random stone texture, but looks great

I kinda feel like Conan the Barbarian visiting City of the Undead...

I do enjoy fighting these Glaivewraiths - I do not hit air often, but you need to know how to handle different weapons and spells

A Glaivewraith ready to attack

That's gotta hurt 🙂

I'm sure someone got hurt here - and I hope it wasn't me 😉

Glaivewraiths aren't that strong, but these Nighthaunts provide more resistance for my blade 🙂 Looks like this one is laughting at me, but not for long... 😉

The fighting isn't bad. My sword arm is sore today, but can't wait to go back 🙂

Two nighthaunts approaching - check out their detailed dynamic shadows on the ground

Nighthaunts and Glaivewraiths work together - and in bigger battles you can meet like 20 or 30 (not spawning at once though), so there's definitely strength in numbers

Some more impressive architecture - to escape you have to go all the way up - this was a great subquest

Another example of very large buildings - I added some light to make it easier to see the buildings, this screenshot was taken at nighttime

"Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it... All that matters is that one stood against many. That's what's important" (or wait, did I just mix up things? 🤔)

"Excuse me, Sir, I may have lost my way - is this the shortcut to the Bakery?"

Skeletons don't provide much resistance - I do enjoy smashing them to pieces nonetheless 🙂

The city is large. Completing subquests or just exploring may help to open closed doors and to open many shortcuts

Even if this isn't a game for kids, there are kids in the game 😉

You can have nice things in this game 🙂

Holding this did make me feel like Gollum...

My precious 😍

Hmmm, maybe I got it wrong and these are the real "Nighthaunts" 🤔

My sword-arm didn't exactly get better after playing some more last night, lol - but I did get some more nice sightseeing - especially the statues are awesome, like here:

Tomorrow, maybe I can tell my colleagues that I've been to "church" this weekend? 🤔 😇 As shown in the above images, I got my staff upgraded quite a lot. To do that I have to leave the city and go back to the Stormcast Castle. When you get back into the city, all opponents respawn, but you can just run from them if you've already beaten them once and got the doors to open, so no big deal. You do not get experience points from killing opponents, so not much reason to kill them more than once if you don't have to.

Also had some fun with the gang:

Btw, the torch is quite detailed:

After the new patch 1.1 the Stormcast Guards now have nicely detailed shadows (I guess the devs got tired of me complaining, lol):

And saw some more nice things and views last night:

Seems I have to go to the catacombs now - and later we're leaving the city on a boat... I'm now about 7 hours in, and it feels like I'm maybe 50% done, who knows...
