AMD was lucky that Nvidia 3080 has 320w consumption - so they can say 6800 XT is better by using "only" 300w  😄

300w is quite a lot - 200w is where things should be for just slightly green gaming. 2c.

6800 XT should be same performance as 3080 - but you save 20w  B)

So far the presentation seems a lot better than Jensen's boring presentation of the Series 30, not sure that counts for much, lol.

6800 using 250w might be the sweet spot for many - $579.

Ooooooooooh  😮  $999 - 300w:

That presentation felt like an action movie - nice touch letting me get slightly disappointed with 6800, and then came the 6900 XT T-Rex out of nowhere  😄

So 6800 totally beats 3070 - but costs $80 more - and uses 30w more (250w).
6800 XT is like 3080, but you save $50 and 20w - and you will be able to buy it 😉
6900 XT is similar to 3090 in performance, but $500 cheaper and 50w less power consumption - and you will be able to buy it.

Not bad. Actually better than I hoped for - but again, we need to have these results confirmed by independent reviewers.

Totally makes sense that Nvidia now needs 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti  B)

Feels like a divorce  :'( Now we have to choose either mom:

 My bad - I thought 3070 was 449 - you're correct, it's 499. I just corrected my post, thanks.

Even better for 6800 then!

Actually I do not care much for all these pancake numbers - we need VR results!

Was a nice reveal.   The world may be in a dark place.but,.in terms of products at.least (no idea on their shares) AMD have knocked it out of the park this year . NV are having to work hard to stay on top and their scrapped 3080 20gb and 3070 16gb to be replaced by a 3070ti and 3080ti (with less ram but  more powerful) shows NV are having to react.
Not sure if I will go red team for GPU (a zen3.cpu is a given) but if the inevitable 3080ti price.matches a 6900xt I think I will still edge to that. 4gb less ram but better ray tracing and DLSS. AMD have.clearly closed the.gap and it's nice to have proper options at the top end now

Iirc Lisa su and Jensen are cousins

That is 1 powerful family.

Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂
