DK1 dead

I've shelved my DK2 till they fix the juddering. I've got a bit of work
to do in VR space, so I need the HD headset.

So I reconnect my RiftUp and nothing.
I eventually stop and disable the runtime and reboot.
Still the HMD should be recognised as a display, but no.

Has anyone had DK1 HMD's stop working like this?
Damn rotten coincidence of electronics failure if not.

Whew, I had to uninstall the DK2 before the RiftUp is recognized.
The uninstall exe is in the Oculus system directory.
So the DK2 actively puts some block on recognizing the DK1 edids.
