As some might know, these days Sony is giving away some major VR titles for free - due to their campaign:
- but most offered titles are VR titles, so I more consider this as a warm-up to Playstation 5 VR. All titles are free even if you do not have a console (like me), just make a PlayStation account and add these free titles to your library - so you can install them later. That's what I just did - and we're talking about significant VR games like:
You're getting 5 VR games for free, much like the free games some of us got with the Rift CV1 bundle - and I'd be greatly surprised if these will not later work with Playstation 5 VR.
Thus I just added to my account:
Personally I believe PSVR2 (VR using PS5) could be the savior of high-end VR gaming, as I'm not fond of the bottom-end VR capabilities of stand-alone Quest 2 hmds (then again Quest 3 may change that - and a high-end $600 Quest hmd has also been hinted at). Still, right now several PCVR games - like for example Cosmonaut, Onward, Population One and Warplanes - have been severely cut down to fit low processing capabilities of Quest (2).
The great gpu powers of the PS5 may be a strong force pulling away from low-end VR games, and now may be a good opportunity to stock up some titles - even if it turns out you're never going to use them...
Sony's offer closes April 23 2021. More info here:

I believe psvr2 is going to be incredible. There may be many triple a game vr exclusives or at least many ported triple a games on the system. I enjoy my quest 2 but I think the psvr2 will be my number 1 go to especially with the duel sense tech going into the vr cintrollers.

I think there's a high probability to see real high-end cutting-edge AAA VR games with the PS5. The PS5 has the power to do just that.
Already now you can play PS4 VR (PSVR) games using PS5, so from the start PSVR 2 may have access to a great number of VR titles that may look and play much better using PSVR2.
The most important PSVR2 games will probably not be ports of existing VR games, but will be the Sony exclusive PSVR2 games.
Made directly for the PS5 and PSVR2, we may be able to see games taking VR to the next level (or same level as Alyx and Lone Echo, which would be awesome too)

I just spent the day grabbing all those and installing what i could before my router blew itself up, but i must say the PS5 is some bit of kit, really happy with it, and when i fired up No man sky with the PS5 patch PSVR patch i was gobsmacked, i cannot believe this is a 6 year old HMD that is producing this wonder sharp colourful picture, it is simply stunning on the PSVR, my god this oled HMD was ahead of its time, and the PS5 has just proven what extra power can bring to old HMD, i am loving this game even more now, this is how Elite D should look right now on on a high end PC, and i doubt i will never go back to ED now after seeing this, stunning game on the PS5 via the PSVR, these game devs of NMS just did magic with this PS5 patch.........tomorrow i will test SkyrimVr, BL2VR, Moss and Thumper.......but after what i saw here the PSVR II on the PS5 is going to be a stunning VR system, i have no worries about that now, bring it on. 🙂
