I use iron weights so the base is only slightly larger than the factory stands but has the advantage of allowing a higher sensor which means you can touch the floor in VR handy for some games and you will have better coverage in the room. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAMZSvUMWFs
Interesting:) These particular ones are no longer available, Can any type work with the standard base+sensor? would you happen to have a link, amazon uk or ebay uk? Also 1.5m seems a little low to me, I have tried getting them at least 180cm up?
Sorry I lost track of the thread, these are what I used. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Extendable-Handheld-Monopod-Tripod-Mount-For-GoPro-Hero-4-3-2-1-SJ4000-Novelty-/332163483431?hash=item4d567c8727&_uhb=1
Thank you:) These tips have made me think a little more creatively about this:) I find it a little weird that 3rd party (or oculus-htc themselves) haven't made more specialized stands, there certainly is a market for this. Something adjustable up to say 2m/6.56 feet, with an adjustable top and a small foot so that it can easily be placed in most rooms, and not take up much space. The oculus sensors in particular are light enough that they do not need a particularly sturdy frame to support properly.
