VoodooDE has had a hands-on with the prototype here:
And Cas from Cas and Chary has also had a hands-on with the Yaw 2 here:
Looking good so far!!! 😎

An important update from the Yaw VR guys! They've finished building the first prototype of their Gravity Platform module which will have two separate options. The Gravity Platform on its own which when added to the Yaw 2 will give you a 3DOF motion sim (pitch, roll and heave) and a module that combines the Gravity Platform and Yaw Platform in one unit which will give you a 4DOF motion sim (Pitch, roll, heave and yaw). Here's a link to their most recent update including a couple of videos:

It's VERY early days and it literally looks a bit wobbly lol, and it's running at half speed in the video, but they're obviously concentrating on the mechanics of the thing rather than weight distribution and form factor.
They're also working on an XY module too which will turn the Yaw 2 into a 6DOF motion simulator (pitch, roll, heave, yaw, surge and sway).

Wow - been away for a few weeks, and seems you have made this your little home @Anonymous 😎
Anyway, some updates on this discussion in a more general term.
YAW looks to be surpassing their stretch goal - with a Kickstarter completing at over $2m in a weeks time:

Congratulations to the team at YAW for this amazing achievement.
It can also be revealed that a new version of the YAW2 is being planned for Out-of-Home entertainment deployment, more news of that to follow.
More details will follow on the differences between the commercial (serious) and consumer (casual) versions.

Attila is back with the weight test lol 😲😂
The pitch and roll don't move the motion sim with 507lbs of hairy bloke sitting on it but the yaw (rotation) DOES move the seat. 😲👍😂

I am interested in seeing the results of revenue and profit made post release. I wonder if this will prove to be just like VR's current state where consumer VR makes more (serious) profit/revenue while commercial VR makes less (casual) profit/revenue.
If we're being honest, the only thing "serious" we have seen from the commercial VR sector over the last 2 years... has been facility closures, resulting from profit loss.
Although it does seem a bit odd to refer to a "video game chair" as "serious" in any capacity. It's childish entertainment regardless of the setting (commercial vs consumer). It's great fun for our inner child (myself included), but: Childish <> Serious.
Lastly, a chair isn't VR, as VR requires an HMD. Sitting in a moving chair without a VR HMD isn't VR, serious or otherwise 😂
The Kickstarter and the Road To VR article you provided show the Oculus Quest 2 unit being paired with this headset. And Quest 2 is a consumer (serious profit/revenue) HMD.

It has been some time since the last warning so I think it may need to be repeated.

For those that are interested there is another video of the system before the competition of the Kickstarter.
We also have now a more clearer picture of plans for the commercial version of the system [no included].
This is an example of the system being used as a screen based driving platform.

Personal attacks are not welcome on the forum, as has been warned many times. Let's not revisit that, thanks.
Back on topic,
Trying to indicate that "commercial" VR is "serious VR" is not a factual nor accurate use of terms. There's no such thing as "serious VR" being exclusive to "commercial VR" as opposed to "consumer VR," and facts show that "consumer VR" headsets are far more immersive than anything that has been used in the commercial sector thus far.
If you believe otherwise then feel free to offer a counter-point. Try to do so without the personal remarks, especially if the goal is to be taken "serious" 😎

I've created a thread on the Oculus sub-Reddit, just 24 hours to go! Please upvote everyone cos I want my free seat belt lol 😲😂😂😂

They've posted expected revenue from the Arcade version in the blurb on their Kickstarter page:
We have created an Arcade Edition for gaming centers with all the features of th Pro, plus some useful additions. We know how important it is for arcades to operate devices with the least possible assistance, so we've put programmable button in this model with which the user can choose between various option on her or his own. In addition, the built-in weight indicators recognize when someone sits in the device and can forward this information. With the help of this feature, one can use this data to precisely monitor usage. It is also possible to automatically start any software when someone sits in the device. We're working on the development of compatibility with the most widely used arcade management softwares, such as Springboard VR Arcade Management Software, Viveport Arcade Software Platform, CenterEdge VR Arcade Management Software and Private Label Software Platform.
For the calulation we used 40/hr fee and running at 60% capacity with 20 days a month for the worst case scenario (260% ROI and 6 weeks until profitability), and 60/hr fee and running at 80% capacity with 20 days a month for the best case scenario (680% ROI and 3 weeks until profitability). Although the device is certainly more durable, we calculated with an overcautious 6-month lifespan for both Yaw2 and other accessories (PC, headset, peripherals). These devices were valued at $4,500 altogether. For variable costs we calculated with 85 sqft space / device, $2/sqft rental fee, 1 staff person / 5 device for a monthly salary of $1,500, and a monthly $30/device for other utility costs.

Thanks for sharing that @Anonymous had not updated my search to see if it was live.
I did not know on Reddit you were I thought that was someone else, must be a common avatar?
The YAW team have really got behind a Out-of-Home entertainment version - especially what happened with the YAW1. I think they have seen such a positive takeup regarding interest, and with two other new systems coming out in competition that they have decided to embrace LBE rather than attempt to ignore it which is great.
I hope to get a chance to try the PRO-A soon, but that is dependent on travel and also when they plan to have examples for media test.
