Oculus Need To Update Recommended Specs

Currently Oculus say that the recommended specs for the Operating System is Windows 7 SP1 or newer.

With every rift being shipped with an Xbox one controller and likely every game going to use it they need to update the recommended Operating System. The Xbox one controller will only be usable with Windows 10, so this is actually the minimum OS required.

The XBox one controller is supported on Windows 7. You can use one on it right now if you want, but the wireless dongle is for some strange only supported on Windows 10.

So annoying as a cord might be, recommended spec is indeed Windows 7.

Yea I currently use a wireless xbox 360 controller on windows 7 too.

If I understand correctly though you can not use a wireless xbox one controller on anything but windows 10 and the Rift will ship with a wireless Xbox one controller.

So every Rift owner will have a wireless Xbox one controller that will only work on windows 10.

Where are you getting this info?
It says on Microsofts official site that the controller supports 7 and 8.

I think where the confusion comes from that you can use an xbox one controller with windows 7 but as far as I am aware only wired.

Whereas the xbox 360 controller can be used wireless using a microsoft xbox bluetooth dongle.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, which will allow an Xbox One controller to work on a Windows computer, will only support Windows 10, Microsoft confirmed to Polygon today.

Releasing this device is an important step for Microsoft. It previously provided a similar dongle for wireless gameplay with the Xbox 360 controller during the last generation, which was part of that joypad turning into the standard input device for both Xbox 360 and PC releases. The difference this time is that the Xbox One controller will only work with Windows 10.

This ones part of a direct quote from Microsoft.
With the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, you'll simply plug the Adapter into the USB 2.0 or 3.0 port of your Windows 10 PC

Xbox One wireless controller adapter only works with Windows 10

Yea I believe you can use a wired Xbox one controller but the issue I see is that every Rift owner will have a wireless xbox one controller and they are also being told they only need windows 7. The controller will not work unless they upgrade to windows 10.
